Maddox Mothershed is a 2028 SS/RHP/OF with a 5-5 135 lb. frame from Senoia, GA who attends Starr’s Mill High School. Smaller young build with some strength for his size. 6.98 runner in the sixty. Primary shortstop on defense with tools more suited for second base, foot quickness and lower half athleticism are his best defensive tools, gets his hands down well, longer arm action and made accurate throws. Also worked out in the outfield with similar athletic actions. Left handed hitter, starts from a spread straight stance with a short stride into contact, has fast hands and is short and direct to contact, hits behind the ball with solid line drive contact to all fields, has an idea how to hit and executed his approach well. Took a turn on the mound, has a big side step delivery with a lean back over the rubber and an over the top arm slot, delivery has some deception. Fastball topped out at 70 mph, mostly straight. Curveball was his best pitch with nice spin and downer break, also got sink on his change up. Good athlete who will keep improving as he gets bigger and stronger.
