Rylan Taguchi is a 2028 C/RHP, 2B, 3B with a 5-8 165 lb. frame from Mill Creek, WA who attends Henry M. Jackson. Primary Catcher, featuring a sturdy, athletic frame with a strong lower half. Comfortable set up behind the dish with quick feet and compact, low exchange. Good receiver with a quick arm throwing out of an over the top slot with carry and accuracy. Secondary right-handed pitcher with advanced feel on the bump. Changes slots consistently, working in a lower slot, crossfire delivery. Quick wind up with a belt high leg lift and solid drive down the mound with a late finish over the front side. On the infield, Taguchi shows proper footwork and glove technique, fielding out front with a quick transfer and strong arm across. Threw from multiple arm slots and showed the ability to throw on the run. Medium base at the plate with a low back elbow and leg lift load. Swing stays compact with an up the middle approach and feel for the barrel. More power to come with growth, development and reps. Ran a 7.87 sixty yard dash.
