2024 WWBA Workout Showcase (July 5)
Keagan Pita is a 2026 C/1B with a 6-4 200 lb. frame from Weston, FL who attends Western. Large frame with long limbs and well developed musculature especially for his class. Present strength and real physicality for a backstop. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.26 seconds. Primary position catcher, with good actions behind the dish. Starting with an offset stance and using solid glove work to a clean midline transfer. Emerging overall arm strength and accuracy but saw feeds up to 75 mph and a pop-time best 1.94 seconds. Reps at 1B as well, presenting a large target and showing smooth glove action and comfort around the bag. Feel for what he's doing around the bag and throws up 78 mph here. LHH working from an open stance, and a lower handset to start. Toe-tap trigger to create timing and create separation before getting to impact. Works the hands directly to the ball, super strong at contact and launched a few out of sight over the right field wall. Will block himself off at times but when on time and extended the ball gets off the barrel in a rush. Power oriented athlete with a lot to look forward to. Very good student as well.
