2024 Mid-Atlantic High School All-State Games (Invite Only)
David Carioto is a 2026 LHP/OF with a 6-0 150 lb. frame from Weston, CT who attends St. Luke's. Lean athletic build with lots of room to get stronger. Works from a coiled leg raise delivery, athletic wind up, arm works well from a lower 3/4's arm slot. Fastball topped out at 81 mph with plenty more there as he gets stronger, gets plenty of run and sink down in the zone. Slider was a big sweeper with good command and an idea how to locate. Change up was a quality pitch with heavy arm side life. Sequenced well and threw strikes with all his pitches, sum is greater than the parts type with plenty of projection. 7.39 runner in the sixty. Worked out in the outfield and showed his athleticism well while making accurate throws. Left-handed hitter that hits from a wide, open base with a tight hand set and inward hover trigger. Incorporates rotational lower half movements into launch and swings with plenty of intent. Developing feel for the barrel with pullside approach and best impact to that side. Flashed occasional line drive impact that will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments and additional strength. Good student. Named to the Mid-Atlantic High School All-State Games Top Prospect List.
