Alex Ohira is a 2027 2B/RHP, SS, OF with a 5-6 110 lb. frame from Bellevue, WA who attends Newport. Lean frame with athletic traits. Ran an 8.00 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder who made throws across the infield with good carry. He was able to get into a good fielding position with athletic movements that helped him get into position. A right-handed hitter with low-set hands and a lower back elbow. It's an upright stance with a stride forward. He's closed off and rotates through his swing. Does a good job uncoiling out of his load with fluid hips and quick hands. He gains ground with his stride with some strength to it. He looked good in BP, being able to impact it well . Paired that with a good performance in-game showing barrel strength at impact, driving it well. Also took to the mound as a right-handed pitcher who starts with a closed stretch position. Throws from a three-quarters arm slot with shorter arm action. Shows intent with his actions, getting the foot down with an athletic delivery on display. His fastball had some ride to it, getting in on right-handed hitters, proving to be a problem at times. His breaking ball has big break to it, with depth. It was effective as a secondary pitch and got the job done. He showed projectable actions on both sides of the baseball throughout the weekend.
