Ethan Froud is a 2023 SS/RHP, UT with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Blue Springs, MO who attends Blue Springs. A lean and compact build with a taller frame. Ran a 7.36 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder who had good footwork on display as he works to the ball. He moved efficient laterally, being an athletic mover. He was able to set his feet and square up the ball. He shows clean and soft hands with powerful throws across up to 89 mph. In the batters' box, he keeps an even base with a straight-line stance. He uses leg lift timing with the hands starting set high and a high back elbow. He swings uphill a bit with some feel for the barrel. He has quick hands with some juice behind it, producing an 82 mph exit velocity. Also pitched, using his athletic build to his advantage. He works quick down the mound, pitching from a three-quarters arm slot with a medium arm stroke and whippy arm action. There's some tempo to his arm, getting through arm stroke quickly. His fastball works 81-84 T85 mph, spinning around 2105 RPMs. The pitch has riding action to it and he's able to command it to both sides of the plate with confidence. He was able to spin the breaking ball in the mid-70s with an 11-5 shape with downhill break that got swings and misses. He also was able to kill spin on a low- to mid-70s changeup with tumbling action to it. Excellent student.
