Cole Kemp is a 2025 RHP/OF with a 6-1 165 lb. frame from Van Buren, MO, who attends Van Buren District Secondary. A bigger frame with a longer lower half and some athleticism in his build. Ran a 7.79 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher with a side-step into a leg lift up around the letters. Has a full arm swing through the back with a quicker arm action that works from a high three-quarters arm slot. Had some whip to the arm stroke. Glove works in unison with the leg lift moving from the belt and gets higher as he lifts before breaking to make his move down the mound. Out of the stretch, he works from the first base side of the rubber with a leg lift up around the letters, glove action being the same as well. Overall was an uptempo delivery with some pact to his actions. His fastball worked up to 80 mph and spun up to 2,014 RPMs with some downhill plane. He had two different breaking balls in the mix as well. He showed a slider that looked gyro-like at 71 mph with high tilt. He missed some bats with that pitched and induced some swings and misses. He also showed a slower slurvy breaking ball that was 11-5 shaped. Settled into his outing nicely and threw strikes. A right-handed hitter with high set hands and a high back elbow. He steps and strides with an inward move from an open stance. He closes up as he loads and uncoils well through the swing. Gets the hands to it well and was able to work pull-side pretty well, getting on plane to produce solid line drives during his round of BP. Worked out as an outfielder with a quicker arm action on throws that were at 82 mph. Had choppier steps working into it, fielding the ball one-handed off the front foot. Had a clean exchange with some momentum working through the baseball. Side shuffles into the throws. Great student.
