Xander Wiskus is a 2025 C/RHP, UT with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Dubuque, IA who attends Hempstead. A bigger and thicker frame. Ran a 7.59 60-yard dash. A primary catcher who had a quicker arm working out of the crouch and showed a shorter release from around the ear. He was accurate around the bag at second and used the lower half well. He threw 73 mph and produced a 1.93 pop time. He worked out as an infielder with some athletic actions, moving well laterally with a clue for the footwork. He had a shorter release with some arm speed and accuracy on throws across the diamond. Funnels to the chest working into release with throws at 77 mph across. He's a right-handed hitter with an even base in a narrow, upright stance. He gets on the backside as he lifts the leg and works through the zone with some length to it. He's pretty direct with the hands and can get to it out front. He showed some bat speed during his round of swings, rotates through, and connects, working pull-side in the air. He had some life working uphill through contact. Had some carry on swings. Produced an 84 mph exit velocity during PG Tech testing. A right-handed pitcher who worked from the wind-up with a sidestep into a knee-to-belt leg lift. He worked from a higher arm slot and had a shorter arm stroke on his throws working through release. From the stretch, he shortened up the leg lift slightly. The fastball worked into the low-70s with some cut to it at times. Mostly showed sinker profile when it was in the 71-73 mph range, cut was more 69-71 mph on the fastball. Paired with a changeup that had good depth to it, tumbling well. It is also mixed in a curveball with a bigger break, with a more slurvy break to it, with an 11/5 shape. Excellent student. Named to the 2023 Fall Midwest Workout Showcase TP List.
