Cameron Gilkerson (2023, Hilliard, Ohio) was spectacular all weekend for the champion Cincy Spikes. His performance was enough to garner 17U tournament MVP, and it is easy to see why. The Wright State commit totaled six hits (three for extra bases), four runs, and 12 RBI over 16 plate appearances. Gilkerson is a huge 6-foot-3 lefty with a powerful frame and already polished strength. He has a wide leg stance and long-armed swing that allow him to utilize the entirety of his frame to generate massive raw power. Beyond the power, he has shown the ability to hit to all fields with power, and also showed the ability to put power behind bad pitches. Overall an enjoyable player to watch and a career to follow in the future.
