The 2023 WWBA Freshman World Championship will pit 106 teams against one another in West Palm Beach, Florida at The Ballpark of the Palm Beaches and with loaded rosters, will provide what’s ultimately a preview of the “older brother” event down the road in the WWBA World Championship in just a few year’s time. Last year it was the MBA 2026 Scout Team who went on a run, taking home the championship in the event’s 10th year of play thanks to a balanced attack both at the plate and on the mound. And while the event isn’t all that old with 2023 serving as year 11, it already boasts 11 alum in the Major Leagues from Jordan Walker and Anthony Volpe to Triston Casas, Xavier Edwards and Davis Schneider

The field of 106 teams descending upon West Palm on October 5th to the 9th will cover every corner of the country, including both Puerto Rico and Canada as they vie for a championship to cap off the fall circuit for this age group. Taking home the title will be no easy task given the sheer volume of talent already rosters, as the pool includes the top 4 prospects in the 2027 class (Chase Fuller, Lash Henderson, Landon Green and Caden Dawson) as well as 7 of the 10 overall. Between the 2026, 2027 and 2028 classes who’ll make up the rosters, 46 players have participated in a Perfect Game Select Festival (27 played in this year’s 14u Festival) at some point throughout their young careers and it's a number that will only continue to grow as new players are surely to be discovered while others make significant jumps and soar up the rankings.

As always, the Perfect Game staff will be out at the fields and remain active on social media and you’ll be able to find all the player updates on Twitter under the @PG_Scouting handle.
