Game Highlights: 2025 Midwest Indoor Showcase
Jonny Deets (2027, Lacrosse, Wisc.) started the day off with a smooth stroke, showing a good feel for the barrel and an ability to work back through the middle of the field. Smooth stroke that got it done. Also looked good during workouts.
Josh Rudnick (2026, Huntley, Ill.) worked 82-86 mph on the fastball, showing plenty of arm-side run to it. He spotted it up and flipped a slider to pair it with a 10-4 shape and a really good bite to it. Also flashed a changeup in the mix to make for a really impressive outing on the mound.
TJ Allemand (2026, Beaver Dam, Wisc.) showed a good three-pitch mix during his outing on the mound. He worked 80-82 mph on the fastball with a feel to create a good arm-side run. He also showed a good changeup, creating a good fade, and flipping a curveball around 70 mph. Filled the zone and had success in his outing.
Dylan Schreiber (2027, Waukesha, Wisc.) put together the loudest outing of the event, working 87-89 mph on the fastball with plenty of ride to it. He showed a slider in the low-70s with teeth to it, showing good depth. He also killed spin on a changeup up to 81 mph. Schreiber put together a dominant outing, missing bats and cruising through the opposition.
Payne Cearnal (2026, Arlington, Tex.) added a base knock in game one as he hammered one back through the middle of the field. He had a simple and athletic stroke with a smooth operation at the plate.
Bo Dooley (2027, Mukwonago, Wisc.) took a nice swing in-game as he drove one the other way, working back up the middle. He showed some lift and was able to get on the barrel and drive it well.
Ty Bumgardner (2027, Green Bay, Wisc.) put together a good outing on the mound, working the low-80s up to 84 mph. He spun it above 2,200 RPMs with a live arm and good speed through release. He showed a slider up to 74 mph with good teeth and bite to it, showing spin above 2,500 RPMs.
Mason Flood (2026, Lake Mills, Wisc.) was able to drive one in the air with a smooth stroke working the other way. He found the barrel and was able to connect to belt one backside for a well-struck base knock.
Brady Helms (2027, Hartford, Wisc.) added a trio of hits on the day with some really good swings. Uber athletic with a balanced operation, showing good looseness and feel to be on time for pitches. He was able to do damage time and time again at the plate, working both pull-side and back-side.
Evan Harbort (2028, Cambridge, Wisc.) took a solid swing during one of his at-bats today, driving the ball back up the middle–shaded toward RCF. He showed some feel to be on the barrel and drive it well. Good impact with the strength off the barrel that showed.
Clayton Kroschel (2026, Beaver Dam, Wisc.) took a nice swing today during one of his at-bats, turning hard and whipping the hands to it on an uphill path. Also got on the mound and worked 83-85 mph with a feel for a quality slider in the mix. He utilized both pitches to rack up swings and misses and find success during his outing on the mound.
Kallen Magli (2028, De Forest, Wisc.) added a base knock, working back up the middle, being on the barrel, and driving the ball well. He got the bat on one and collected a barrel before putting together a good outing on the mound. He showed a feel to miss pitches with projectable stuff that bodes well moving forward.
Taylor Manuell (2027, Madison, Wisc.) showed a really nice swing early on as he found the barrel and crushed one working backside up the middle, shading it into right-center. He was able to be on the barrel and do damage.
Ian McClure (2028, Reedsburg, Wisc.) found a barrel as well during today’s games, living on the barrel during an at-bat, being on time & out-front to do damage.
Wyatt Stauss (2027, Marinette, Wisc.) got things going in the third game of the day with a strong stroke working the other way. He was able to send the barrel through the zone with good strength off the barrel, driving one the other way for a barreled-up ball into right field.
Brayden Kottschade (2026, Rochester, Minn.) picked up a couple of barrels on the day, showing some good swings with a good feel for the barrel. Easy right-handed stroke with feel to stay connected & loose through contact, impacting well. Also jumped on the mound, working 80-84 mph on the fastball with spin above 2,000 RPMs. He showed a slider up to 77 mph with some good tilt and depth to it. Also flashed the occasional changeup.
Luca Miller (2028, De Forest, Wisc.) showed off a good swing from the left side with good bat-to-ball skills on display. He was able to be on the barrel and do damage, driving the ball pull-side well with some speed out of the box.
Eli Dreier (2027, Brookfield, Wisc.) added a couple of really loud swings to his line. He took good at-bats and showed plenty of strength off the barrel during the games on Sunday. Good strength to impact working pull-side. Also got on the mound, working up to 88 mph on the fastball, holding 84-87 mph. He showed a curveball up to 69 mph with a quality bite to it. Also flashed a changeup up to 81 mph in a really solid outing.
Derrick Beckstrand (2027, Elkhorn, Wisc.) put together a good outing on the mound, but before that, he found a barrel and hammered one working pull-side. Good strength off of it with a feel to turn through it and drive it well.
