Vipers ride pitching to victory

The North Alabama Vipers defeated Team Avenue Aces by a  score of 8-0 behind a dominating pitching performance.  Austin Neal (2014, Cullman HS, AL) started the game going 2 no-hit innings allowing only 1 walk while striking out 4 while featuring a 78-82/84 mph fastball and a low 70's slider.  Collin Blackwood (2016, Hartselle HS, AL) came in and threw a perfect inning in relief topping out at 87 mph on his fastball.  Lance Cleveland (2014, Cullman HS, AL) then followed that up by going 3 scoreless innings allowing 3 hits and 1 walk while striking out 2. 

Offensively for the Vipers, Brad Norman (2016, Auburn HS, AL) showed big raw power going 2-3 with 1 home run, 1 triple, 1 run scored and 4 RBI.  Blake Coward (2014, Madison Academy HS, AL) also had a nice day going 1-2 with 1 triple, 2 runs scored, 2 RBI, 1 walk and 1 stolen base. 

For the Aces, Liam Moreno (2016, Beaver Country Day HS, MA) reached base twice going 1-1 with a walk on the day. 

Evans's bat helps Elite to win

Team Elite Roundtrip 18's defeated OTC Baseball 18u by a score of 6-5 on Saturday night behind the spark leadoff hitter, Bryce Evans (2014, Savannah Christian Prep HS, GA) provided.  Evans went 2-2 at the plate with 2 runs scored, 1 walk and 1 stolen base on the day.  Also having a strong offensive day was Augusta State commit, Gage Patton (2014, Appling County HS, GA) who went 2-3 with 2 doubles on the day. Georgia commit, Keegan McGovern (2014, Coffee County HS, GA) added in a 1-2 with 2 RBI and 1 steal performance. 

The Elite starter, and Georgia Southern commit, Zach Cowart (2015, Emanuel County Institute HS, GA), came in to the game in relief, but pitched effectively going 2 2/3 innings allowing 1 run on 3 hits while striking out 2.  Cowart featured an 82-85 mph fastball while mixing in a hand full of high 60's curveballs.

For OTC, Gerald Carter (2015, Dutchtown HS, GA) had a solid day offensively going 2-3 with 1 double, 2 runs scored, 2 RBI and 1 steal.  Trey Chapman (2014, Luella HS, GA) also showed well going 1-3 with 1 triple and 1 RBI.

East Cobb Astros wins the Championship.

Great pitching leads the East Cobb Astros 18 past Team Elite 18u 5-0. Alex Watkins had an excellent day for the East Cobb Astros 18. Chase Smartt (Charles Henderson, Troy, AL 2015, Troy) help the Astros pull ahead in the seven inning. Chase Illig (Tazewell, Bluefield, VA 2015, College of Charleston) singled to get on base in the seventh. He then went from first to second on a single by Thomas Johns (Clay-Chalkville, Pinson, AL 2016). Trevor Devine (North Cobb, Acworth, GA 2014) racked up three RBIs on one hit for the East Cobb Astros 18. He also homered in the seventh inning.

Alex Watkins (Albertville, Albertville, AL 2014, Alabama) had wonderful day on the mound for the East Cobb Astros 18. He struck out twelve hitters in his seven innings of work. He only gave up just five hits during his innings of work. Logan Howard (Forsyth, Central, Cumming, GA 2015) for the Team Elite 18u pitched 3.2 innings worth while giving up two hits, one run, one walk, and striking out six. Watkins fastball range for the day was 80-83 mph with curveball range 68-75 mph. Howard fastball range for the day was 79-83 mph.

Moore hits 90 mph.

AJ Moore (2014, Mountain View, GA) threw six quality innings for Team Elite 18U as they beat North Alabama Vipers 1-0.  He struck out nine while allowing two hits and two walks. His impressive fastball was in the high 80's and touched 92 mph. Bobby Holmes (2014, Oconee County, GA) threw the seventh. He fanned one and allowed one hit. He also had a high 80's fastball that reached 88 mph.  Ben Utley (2014, Mountain View, GA) had two singles in the win.

Dakota Fowler (2014, Hartselle, AL) threw 4 2/3 innings. He struck out five and allowed three hits.  His fastball was in the mid 80's and touched 87 mph.

Illig helps Astros win

Chase Illig (2015, Tazewell, VA) went a perfect 3 for 3 for the East Cobb Astros 18 in their 6-1 win over Sandlot.  He had two doubles and an RBI.  Griffin Helms (2014, Norcross, GA) pitched in with two triples and two RBI's. Chase Smartt (2015, Charles Henderson, AL) helped out with a singled and an RBI. Brooks Buckler (2015, Norcross, GA) threw six innings and struck out six. He allowed three hits and one walk. He threw an impressive fastball that ranged between 83 and 85 mph and reached 87.

Luke Preaus (2014, Metro Christian, OK) threw six quality innings for the Sandlot.  He fanned three and allowed two walks. His fastball was in the low 80's and touched 85 mph.

A's Select Win Tight Game 3-2

The A's Select defeated the Players Edge 18U team 3-2 in a shortened six inning game. Hitting came in small doses in this game as pitching was what really stood out.

Alex Nodarse (2015, Florida Christian, FL) gained the win with two scoreless innings for the A's Select. He gave up three hits and walked one. He struck out three hitters as his fastball sat 79-83 mph and peaked at 84 mph. Hernan Sardinas (2016, Calusa Preparatory, FL) gave up one run on one hit and two walks over two innings of work himself. Sardinas showed off an explosive fastball that sat 86-88 mph and topped out at 89 mph. Five of the six outs he recorded were strikeouts.

Hector Montano (2014, Calusa Preparatory, FL) got on base every time as he singled once, walked twice, and went on to score two runs. 3-hole hitter Ozzie Millet (2016, Terra Environmental Research Institute, FL) went 2 for 3 with an RBI.

Blayne Baker (2014, Zion Lutheran Christian, FL) started the game on the mound for Players Edge. He threw three innings giving up three runs (two earned) on two hits and three walks. His three strikeouts came by way of his 79-85 mph fastball. He topped out at 87 mph. LHP Jeffrey Arbour (2015, Cardinal Newman, FL) saw his fastball top out at 82 mph in his three scoreless innings of work.

Leadoff guy Manny Rojas (2015, Zion Lutheran, FL) went 2 for 2 with a solo homer in the bottom of the third for Players Edge. Blayne Baker had two hits of his own.

McGlamry Plays Hero in 4-3 Win for Marlins

Team Alabama-Johnson scored on a few wild pitches to tie the game 3-3 in the bottom of the sixth. East Cobb Marlins responded right back in the seventh and then sat Alabama-Johnson down in order to win 4-3.

Russ McGlamry (2014, Sequoyah, GA) led the Marlins in hits (3) and led his team to victory after their 3-1 edge disappeared. McGlamry's clutch single to center in the top of the seventh inning was the decider. Zach Conn (2014, Kingofkingschristia, GA) had the only other RBI for the Marlins.   

Bryant Auburn (2014, Dominion Christian, GA) threw 1.2 scoreless and hitless innings. His fastball ranged from 82-84 mph and he struck out three of the four batters he faced. Dondrei Hubbard (2014, Creekview, GA) faced five hitters and picked up the win for the Marlins.

Alex Weeks (2015, Pelham, AL) got Team Alabama-Johnson on the board in the first inning with his single to left. Reid Gardner (2015, Pelham, AL) had a nice 2 for 3 day at the dish. Tyler Lusk (2016, Piedmont, AL) had one hit, drew two walks, and scored a team high two runs.

Lusk started the game for Alabama-Johnson, spreading out seven hits and giving up two runs (one earned).

Jayhawks Down SEB 7-1

The Denny Pritchett Jayhawks 18u team busted the door open with a four-run sixth inning on their way to a 7-1 victory over SEB 17/18u White.

Winning pitcher Avery Smith (2014, Creekview, GA) pitched five scoreless innings, only surrendering two hits and one walk. His heater sat 85-88 mph and hit 90 mph as he went on to strike out eight hitters. He also showed a curveball, slider, and changeup in his arsenal.

Ryan Worley (2014, River Ridge, GA) had a two-hit game and brought the game to a 5-0 score with his two-run double in the top of the sixth. Dee Kelly's (2014, Forsyth Central, GA) single to center in the same inning gave them a 7-0 lead. Kelly also had two hits on the day. Nick Williams (2014, Creekview, GA) had the third two-hit game and he added a run too.

Javier Lopez (2015, Greater Atlanta Christian School, GA) and Matt Cartmel (2015, Hebron Christian Academy, GA) were the only hitters to knock base-hits for SEB 17/18u White.

Cartmel threw a scoreless inning on the mound too. Chance Rodriquez (2015, Apalachee, GA) faced 12 hitters over two innings of work. His fastball sat 79-82 mph, peaking at 83 mph.

6-run 4th Inning the Difference in Banditos W

The Georgia Banditos scored six times in the fourth inning and that proved to be the difference in their 9-4 win against Tiger USA Baseball.

The Banditos pounded out 13 hits to go with their 9 runs. Mississippi State recruit Ryan Gridley (2014, Milton, GA) led them off and led the way with his three hits. Grant Hormuth (2014, Blessed Trinity Cath, GA) had a solid 2 for 3 day with a double, one run scored, and one RBI. Evan Brown (2014, Darlington, GA) and Chase Suddeth (2015, Mceachern, GA) both crossed the plate twice in the win.

Will Sheffield (2015, Central, GA) took the win, throwing two innings and giving up two runs (zero earned). He allowed three hits, no walks, and had one strikeout. His fastball ranged from 81-84 mph.      Brent Alford (2014, Mceachern, GA) threw a scoreless inning and his fastball ranged from 82-86 mph.

Tiger USA Baseball had seven different hitters in their lineup that got in the hit column. Jordan Ballou (2015, Stephenson, GA) and Dylan Steinfeld (2015, Pace Academy, GA) each picked up an RBI in the game.

Jamori Blash (2014, Meadowcreek, GA) showed great mound presence in his scoreless inning of work. His fastball sat at 81-85 mph and topped out at 86 mph.

Extra Innings Lead to 8-7 Sandlot Victory

It took nine innings and a late sacrifice fly, but Sandlot was able to score on the tag to take the win 8-7 over the So Cal NTT and advance to the semifinal round. So Cal had taken a one run lead into the seventh inning, but Sandlot answered the call to send the game into extra innings. By rule the bases were loaded and one out was given, and that was all Sandlot and Houston Glad (2014, Tahlequah HS, OK) needed, with Glad flying out to left field to get the winning score from third. Needing to close out the inning, Sandlot responded with a double play to end the game.

The Sandlot offense was sparked by Glad and Sean Votaw (2014, Bishop Kelly HS, OK). Glad, an Eastern Oklahoma State College recruit, finished with a 2-4 game at the plate, picking up two RBIs and a run scored. Votaw had a 2-4 game in the batter's box and finished with a game high four RBIs and a triple. Stephen Skruck, a Furman commit (2014, Pope HS, GA) was the motor behind the So Cal offense, finishing the game 3-4 at the plate picking up an RBI and three runs scored with a double. 

Sandlot used four pitchers in this game and got the most success from Max Simpson (2014, Bishop Kelly HS, OK). Simpson tossed two and a third innings and allowed no hits or runs while walking none and striking out two on 17 pitches with a strike percentage over 77 percent. 

William Deloney (2014, Alabama Christian Academy, AL) shone for the So Call NTT bull pen and tossed two and a third scoreless innings. The Auburn University commit allowed one hit while walking one and striking out two.

Cardinals Have Second-Inning Outburst in Win

The GBSA Cardinals scored off four different pitchers on their way to a 13-5 win over Team Avenue Aces.

Kelvin Wimbish (2014, Southwest Dekalb, GA) was good enough to grab the win as he threw four innings of four-run ball (one earned). He allowed five hits and one walk.

The story in this game was the offense the Cardinals produced. Jalen Jackson (2014, Heritage, GA) led all hitters with three hits which included a double and a 2-run homer. Ryan Betts (2014, Stephenson, GA) and Malin Martin (2014, Woodland, GA) also drove in two runs of their own. Deion Sellers (2014, Cedar Grove, GA) and Savannah State commit Harrison Moore (2014, Stephenson, GA) had two knocks and an RBI.

Marshall Parrish (2015, Sacred Heart Catholic, MS) and Tyler Smith (2015, St John Bosco, CA) both ripped a double and had two hits for the Aces.


Barnes Proves Game Ready in 2-1 Decider

The Game Ready Athletics 18's pushed across two runs on only two hits and got good pitching to win one 2-1 over the 18U Titans.

Winning pitcher Barnes allowed one run over five innings of work. He spread out five hits, did not give up a walk, and fanned five on a fastball topping out at 82 mph. Browning threw one inning, struck out two, and his fastball ranged from 81-83 mph.

Offensively, Mehall and Turk were the only hitters for the Athletics to get in the hit column. Mehall scored both runs and stole a base too. Turk's single to right in the bottom of the sixth was the difference. Fann drove in the other run of the contest.

5-hole hitter Braden Harris (2015, Woodland, GA) had the only two-hit game for the Titans. Elliot Berrey (2015, Cartersville, GA) drove in the Titans' lone run on a single to right in the second.

Titans starter Ryan Wesley (2015, Whitefield Academy, GA) turned out a nice performance on the mound, giving up two runs (zero earned) on one hit and two walks. Wesley struck out three hitters as his fastball sat 79-83 mph and peaked at 86 mph. John Mellen (2015, Paideia, GA) threw the last two outs of the game, topping out at 82 mph.


Astros Roll To Semifinals 8-0

The East Cobb Astros put on a hitting display, racking up 12 team hits and notching at least one run in every inning as they cruised past the East Cobb Indians 8-0 in six innings to propel themselves into the semifinals. Four different Astros registered at least two hits and were led by Jalen Miller (2015, Riverwood HS, GA) and Issiac Phillips (2015, Mt. Paran Christian, GA). Miller notched a 2-3 game at the plate and picked up two RBIs and a run scored with a double and triple while adding a stolen base. Phillips had a 2-3 game also but picked up his two RBIs and run scored with a solo homer in the bottom of the second and a single in the fifth. Thomas Johns (2016, Clay-Chalkville HS, AL) added a game high three RBIs with a bases loaded double in the bottom of the fifth.  

Collin Stoecker (2015, Siegel HS, AL) took home the win for the Astros after spending two innings on the mound. Stoecker, a Notre Dame commit, started out the game for the Astros and allowed one hit and no runs while walking one and striking out two with a fastball averaging 81 mph and topping out at 83 mph. 

Reeves Johnson (2013, Etowah HS, GA) is credited with the loss for the Indians for his four and a third innings of work on the mound. Johnson allowed nine hits and seven runs, all earned, while walking two and striking out three with a fastball averaging 81 mph and topping out at 87 mph before being pulled in the fifth inning. 

The Astros will take on the winner of Sandlot and So Call NTT in the first semi-final game tonight.

A's Ice Coastal Georgia 5-0

The 212 A's scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning to ice the game and take a 5-0 victory over Coastal Georgia Baseball. The A's made the most out of only four hits for the game and were led on offense by Jake Wilkinson (2014, Whitewater HS, GA). The West Georgia commit went a perfect 3-3 at the plate, knocking two doubles and picking up two RBIs, a stolen base and a run scored.

Ben Clark (2013, Newnan HS, GA) picked up the win for 212 for his three innings of relief work. Clark came in the game in the fourth inning and tossed three innings of hitless and scoreless ball, only allowing two walks while striking out four with a fastball averaging 85 mph and topping out at 88 mph before being relieved in the final inning. 

Ryan Stewart (2014, Brunswick HS, GA) takes the loss for Coastal Georgia after spending five innings on the mound. Stewart allowed two hits and three runs, two earned, while walking two and striking out three. 

Florida Bandits Hold on to 6-5 Win

The Florida Bandits defeated the Atlanta Dodgers 6-5 in seven innings. The Dodgers tried a six inning comeback being down 6-3, but could only get two runs in the sixth inning to lose by one run.

The leadoff hitter, Grant Tabor (2015, Leesburg, FL), for the Bandits led the team with two hits going 2-3 with a triple and two runs. Ryan Gilbert (2015, Mount Dora, FL) tacked on two singles in the game. Cody Cannon (2015, Umatilla, FL) racked a hit on the board with two RBIs and a run. Wes Moulden (2014, Eistis, FL) jumped in with a RBI double. 

Austin Baskette (2014, Leesburg, FL) pitched the majority of the game for the Florida Bandits going five solid innings. He gave up four hits and two runs, both earned. He was able to strike out five while touching 81 mph. He showed really good arm action while showing a smooth and balanced delivery. He flashed a a good curveball that showed a lot of potential. He is a polished pitcher that has projectable pitches. 

Jaquarious Glover (2016, Lithonia, GA) pitched the complete game for the Dodgers. He surrendered eleven hits while letting four earned runs cross home. He was able to strike out nine opponents while on the mound. He also shows great arm action while showing good command of all his pitches. He showed a smooth delivery that let him set up hitters and keep them off balance. He showed a four pitch repertoire that consisted of a fastball, curveball, slider, and change up. His fastball touched 83 mph on the bump.

Erickie Godfrey (2016, Atlanta, GA) led the offense in the three hole for the Dodgers going 2-3 with a RBI. Tyler Adams (2016, Auburn, GA) went 2-3 as well with a double and a single with a RBI and two runs. Zakkee Freeman (2016, Lithonia, GA) helped out with a single and a run. 

Sandlot Seize Victory 4-2

Sandlot answered a third inning rally by Marquis Grissom Baseball with one of it's own, scoring three in the bottom of the third to answer two runs by Grissom and held on for the win 4-2. In a game where hits were few and far between, only seven hits between both teams, Garrett Hall (2014, Owasso HS, OK) proved to be the difference maker for Sandlot. Hall went 1-2 at the plate with a bases-loaded double in the bottom of the third that cleared the bases and gave Hall three RBIs. 

Nick Brown (2014, Catossa HS, OK) took the win for Sandlot for his six innings on the mound. Brown allowed three hits and two unearned runs while walking three and striking out eight before being relieved in the final inning. The Missouri State recruit showed a fastball that averaged 87 mph and topped out at 90 mph.

Kenny Glover (2014, Newton HS, GA) is credited with the loss for Marquis Grissom after spending all six innings on the mound. Glover, a Savannah State commit, allowed four hits and four runs, one earned, while walking three and striking out two.

Sandlot advance to the quarterfinal round where they will take on So Cal NTT.

Riverbats Survive Rally, Win 6-5

The Cincinnati Riverbats/ Team Combat survived four fielding errors, a scoring drought and a furious rally by the Mizuno Team GA Baseball Academy 17U Red and took the victory 6-5. The Riverbats wasted little time getting on the scoreboard, putting up three runs in the first inning, but were held scoreless over the final three innings and relied on their pitching and defense to win them the game and were rewarded with six double plays to help ice the game. 

The Riverbat offense got their spark from Jake Neeley (2015, Glen Este HS, OH) and Adam McDonough (2015, Lakota East HS, OH). Neeley had a 3-4 game at the plate and picked up two doubles and two runs scored while helping out on the defensive end with a double play. McDonough went 2-3 in the batter's box while notching two RBIs, a double, a run scored, and a walk. Andrew Reynolds (2015, West Forsyth HS, GA) did his best to spark the Mizuno offense, going a perfect 3-3 at the plate and picking up an RBI and two runs scored with two doubles. 

Tanner Fanta (2014, Lakota East HS, OH) took home the win for the Riverbats for his four and a third innings on the mound. Fanta allowed six hits and four runs, two earned, while walking one and striking out four with a four pitch rotation that didn't feature speed, but rather diversity. Fanta tossed a fastball on only 45 percent of his pitches; mixing in a curveball, slider and change up to make him one of the most unpredictable pitchers in the field.

Renegades Rally, Win 7-6

In a game of major swings and scoring in bunches, the East Cobb Renegades were able to match a fourth inning three-run rally by the Rawlings Recruits and take the victory 7-6 in six innings. The Recruits scored first, putting up three runs in the first inning but were overtaken in the second by a Renegade rally that put up four runs in the bottom of the third in what proved to be the difference. 

The Renegade offense got it's spark from Julian Fitts (2015, Marietta HS, GA) and Connor Haseley (2016, Walton HS, GA). Fitts got a perfect 2-2 game at the top of the lineup and picked up three RBIs with Haseley overcoming his three fielding errors and complementing at the bottom of the lineup, also going 2-2 at the plate with three RBIs. Rawlings got their power from Lindenwood commit Micheal Bibbs (2014, Seckman Sr. HS, MO) and his 2-4 game at the plate with three RBIs and two runs scored. 

Taylor Buice (2016, Lassiter HS, GA) took home the win for East Cobb, after spending one and two thirds innings on the mound tossing scoreless relief work. Buice allowed two hits with one walk and one strikeout.

22 Total Hits Favor East Cobb Yankees in 9-4 Win

The East Cobb Yankees defeated the Excel Blue Wave 9-4 in seven innings. The Excel Blue Waves jumped off to a 4-0 start, but the Yankees scored consistently give the next four innings to take the lead and hold on for the win.

The Georgia Tech commit, Joey Bart (2015, Buford, GA), led the Yankee offense with two hits with a double and a single. He was able to drive in a run and score once. While at bat he showed he can bring loft to the ball and can be the impact player with gap power. Logan Moody (2015, LaGrange, GA) jumped in with two hits of own with a double and a single and a run and RBI. Matt Mixon (2014, Acworth, GA) matched with two hits of his own too and a run. Tyler Stephenson (2015, Kennesaw, GA) 1-3 with a double and two RBIs by making very hard contact with the ball. 

The Clemson commit, Jake Higginbotham (2015, Cumming, GA), started and picked up the win for the Yankees. He was able to display three pitches with his fastball topping out at 88 mph. He went four innings that allowed eight hits and four runs to score. He was able to strike out six in the process. Seth Pierce (2015, Dalton, GA) came in an inning of relief while striking out a batter while facing five in the inning. He showed he could attack hitters by hiding the ball well with his deceptive delivery. 

The Excel Blue Wave offense matched the EC Yankees neck and neck. The team total 10 hits. Tyler Wilburn (2015, Helena, AL) led the team in hits and RBIs with two each. Tyler Wise (2015, Hoover, AL) tied Wilbrun with two hits with one being a double. The Jacksonville State commit, Dalton Cobb (2015, Alexandria, aL), added a hit of his own with a RBI. Clayton Daniel (2014, Guntersville, AL) and Sean Berry (2015, Arab, AL) matched with a single each and scoring once. 

St. Louis Holds On 4-3 Over Chargers

The Georgia Highlands Scout Team Chargers had some fight in them, but that fight was stopped short. Justin Aikens (2014, Hiram, GA) singled to left in the bottom of the seventh inning to bring the score within one run. The St. Louis Blue Chip/Rawling Prospects would then get the final out and win a close one 4-3 over the Chargers.

Tyler Barker (2015, Bloomfield, NM) did his job on the mound, cruising through five innings of work and picking up the win. He only allowed three hits and one walk, while striking out four hitters.

Kevin Fargo doubled in the winning run in the top of the sixth, putting St. Louis up 4-0 at the time. Dakota Marley (2015, Legend, CO) and Zachary Gasaway (2015, Durango, CO) both drove in a run as well. Emilio Martinez (2015, Coronado, CO) had two knocks on the day.

Ian Tait (2015, Hiram, GA) started the ballgame for the Chargers, throwing three innings of one-run ball. He gave up three hits and had three strikeouts. Turner Edwards (2013, North Paulding D, GA) threw 1.2 perfect innings, sitting 82-84 mph.

Aikens had two hits on the day, his other hit was a double in sixth. Tucker Wright (2015, North Paulding, GA) and Trip Streetman (2014, Hiram, GA) each had a two-hit game and scored a run.

Late Innings Heroics Fall Short for Chargers

The St. Louis Blue Chip/Rawlings Prospects defeated the Georgia Highlands Scout Team Chargers 4-3 in seven innings. 

Kevin Fargo led the St. Louis Blue Chip/Rawlings Prospects in offensively. He roped two doubles and drive in 1 of the 3 RBIs in the game. Emilio Martinez (2015, Colorado Springs, CO) joined in with two hits of his own with one being a double. He was also able to score once. Dakota Marley (2015, Parker, CO) and Zachary Gasaway (2015, Durango, CO) each had a hit of their own and one RBI. 

Tyler Barker (2015, Bloomfield, NM) started and picked up the win for the team. He went five strong innings allowing three hits and no runs to cross. He struck out four opponents while on the mound. Evan Dummer (2015, Ft. Collins, CO) went the last two innings allowing five hits and two earned runs to score while striking out three batters. 

The Georgia Highlands Scout Team matched the opposition in hits with eight. Three Chargers had multi hit games. Justin Aikens (2014, Douglasville, GA) led the surge with two hits with one double and a single. He was also able to score once and drive in a run. Trip Streetman (2014, Hiram, GA) also roped two hits of his own while scoring once. Tucker Wright (2015, Dallas, GA) was the last batter to get two hits under his belt. Dalton James (2014, Powder Springs, GA) led off for the team and went 1-3 with a RBI. 

Ian Tait (2015, Douglasville, GA) started and got pinned with the loss for the Chargers. He was effective for three innings giving up three hits and allowing one run to cross. He was, however, able to strike out three batters. Turner Edwards (2013, Dallas, GA) showed the most consistency for the pitching staff going perfect with no runs, no hits, and no walks in his 1.2 innings. He was able to strike out two batters while touching 84 mph on the bump. 

Wheels Fall Off For Choice Baseball in 14-3 Loss

Powermill 18U defeated Choice Baseball Club 14-3 in five innings. Choice Baseball held the lead until the top of the fourth inning when Powermill totaled five runs and then seven in the fifth.

The top five hitters for Powermill totaled seven of the ten total hits in the game. Zachary Chappell (2014, Fort Myers, FL) racked two hits and brought in three runs each. Kaycee Reese (2015, Tallahassee, FL), Payton Dixon (2014, Thomasville, GA), and Jonah Bozeman (2014, Moultrie, GA) each had a hit, a RBI and scored two runs in the game. Collin Harvell (2014, Tallahassee, FL) joined in with two hits of his home while scoring twice too. 

The pitching staff send out three pitchers. Thomas Nicoll (2015, Tallahassee, FL) started and went two innings and letting three hits fall and one earned run. He was able to strike out six opponents while on the mound with his 88 mph fastball. He was a side arm pitcher that ranged from 84 to 87 mph. Trey Johnson (2014, Tallahassee, FL) pitched the next two innings allow no hit or runs and striking out five of the seven batters faced. Dallas Oliver (2014, Vernon, FL) finished the game going perfect by striking out all three batters faced. Oliver was able to touch 89 mph and showed a 66 mph curveball and a 75 mph slider. 

Choice Baseball was only able to muster up three this. One was by Joshua Smith (2016, Mableton, GA) who was able to drive in a run too. Arias Smith (2013, Hampton, GA) hit the only extra base hit for the team and touched home once. 

Walks Hurt Both Teams, But Help Chain to Victory

The Savannah Chain 18U defeated the East Cobb Dodgers 8-5 in six innings. The Chain jumped out to an early 7-0 lead, but the Dodgers rallied with a four spot in the fourth inning. However, couldn't muster up anymore runs to compete to the end. 

The Savannah Chain could only get four hits to fall, but the team was able to draw nine walks to put runners on. Jacob Teston (2014, Rincon, GA) took advantage with runners on going 2-3 with two singles and driving in three runs. Shane Buerster (2014, Pooler, GA) also took advantage going 1-3 to drive in two runs in the game. Christian Odom (2014, Savannah, GA) jumped in with a single and a RBI of his own. 

Philip Swindell (2014, Ludowici, GA) started and went 3.2 innings for the Chain. He let only three hits fall with four runs cross. He was able to touch 87 mph while on the mound. 

Joey Santoro (2013, Roswell, GA) knocked a double and a single for the EC Dodgers. He drove in two of the five runs in the game. Cortez CJ Carter (2016, Decatur, GA) joined in with a hit and a RBI of his own. 

Team Alabama Early Start Leads to 3-2 Victory

Team Alabama defeated the Fairfield Marlins 3-2 in seven innings. Team Alabama scored three runs and held onto that lead the entire game. Fairfield Marlins tried to comeback in the seventh but fell one run short. 

Sam Praytor (2017, Helena, AL) provided the offense for Team Alabama with three of the four total hits on the team. He was able to rope two doubles and drive in two runs. He led the team offensively to give them the push they needed. Logan Brashier (2015, Helena, AL) tacked on the fourth hit for the team and he touched home once. Tyler White (2015, Helena, AL) and Austin Kitterman (2016, Russellville, AL) each drove in a RBI. 

Stephen Poplin (2015, Alabaster, AL) started and picked up the win for Team Alabama. He let four hits fall and let two runs cross. He was able to strike out two opponents. He threw from the 3/4 arm angle with a long and loose arm action. 

Tavin Howard (2014, Columbus, OH) provided the only offense for Fairfield Marlins. He crushed a two run homer in the bottom of the seventh. Kameron Herring (2014, Heath, OH) scored on the homer. Brody McGrath (2015, Albany, OH) only pitched an inning for the Marlins but showed the most consistency by only allowing one hit and no runs to score. He was able to reach 78 mph. 

Washington Provides Entire Offense for Indians

The East Cobb Indians defeated the Mizuno Team GA Baseball Academy 17U Blue 2-0 in a seven inning shootout. Matt Washington (2014, Douglasville, GA) proved two of the three hits for the East Cobb Indians. 

Washington roped a double and picked up two RBIs in the fourth inning. Hampton Clark (2015, Kennesaw, GA) was the other batter to collect the third hit of the entire game. Clark also started pitching for the EC Indians going all seven innings. He allowed four hits to fall with no runs to cross. He struck out five batters on his 84 mph fastball. 

Hitting for Mizuno Team GA Baseball Academy 17U Blue outhit the Indians. Four different batters accounted for the four total hits. Michael Strait (2015, Cumming, GA) and Nicholas Gatewood (2015, Duluth, GA) had a hit a piece and roped doubles each. Reed Clark (2015, Cumming, GA) started the game and went the first three innings. He showed a long wiry frame. He showed a good extension that showed good movement on all pitches. He topped out at 87 mph while displaying four different pitches. Will Geraghty (2015, Atlanta, GA) came and pitched an inning and let a hit fall and strike out one. 

Consistent Run Flow Leads to 7-2 Win for Titans

The 18U Titans defeated the Madison-Ridgeland Academy 7-2 in seven innings. The Titans scored at least one run in five innings. Two times they scored twice. 

The offense for the Titans was the main highlight of the game. They were able to collect nine hits and only strike out four times while walking four times. Dalton Delay (2015, Woodstock, GA) led the team with two hits, a RBI, and three runs. Alex Roth (2014, Marietta, GA) came in with a RBI double and two runs in his game. Nick Pippin (2015, Sharpsburg, GA) also notched two hits and a RBI. Braden Harris (2015, Cartersville, GA) matched with a RBI double too.

Micah Smith (2015, Cartersville, GA) pitched the majority of the game going 4.2 innings with four hits and two runs allowed. Devin McClesky (2015, Canton, GA) went 1.1 innings and truck out two batters while touching 82 mph with his fastball. Dalton Isley (2015, Smyrna, GA) tossed the last inning by striking out all three batters he faced. 

The Madison-Ridgeland Academy only totaled four hits in the game. Hayden White (2016, Madison, MS) dropped a hit of his own and touched home once. 

Pitching helps Cardinals win

GBSA Cardinals pitching was too much for Marquis Grissom Baseball as they won 9-1. Corderias Dorsey (2014, Cedar Grove, GA) started the game and lasted six innings.  He fanned 12 batter while allowing three hits and one walk. He threw an impressive fastball that ranged in the mid 80's and touched 87 mph.  Raylen Elzy (2015, Martin Luther King Jr., GA) came in to finish the game.  He struck out three and allowed one walk. His fastball was in the high 80's and reached 90 mph.  EJ Ranel (2015, Archer, GA) led the offense with a triple and two RBI's.  Deion Sellers (2014, Cedar Grove, GA) also hit a triple in the win.

Daniel Croom pitched an inning for Grissom. He struck out one and his fastball hit 84 mph.

Titans top Madison-Ridgeland

18U Titans went on to beat Madison-Ridgeland Academy 7-2. Nick Pippin (2015, East Coweta, GA) led the offense with two singles and an RBI.  Dalton Delay (2015, Woodstock, GA) also had two singles of his own and an RBI.  Braden Harris (2015, Woodland, GA) doubled in a run in the win. Micah Smith (2015, Cartersville, GA) started and lasted 4 2/3 innings.  He struck out two while allowing four hits.  Dalton Isley (2015, Campbell, GA) pitched an inning and struck out three batters.

Hayden White (Madison-Ridgeland, MS) had a single in the loss.

Shoot Out Favors East Cobb Marlins in 3-1 Win

The East Cobb Marlins defeated the SEB 17/18U White 3-1 in seven innings. The SEB jumped out to a 1-0 lead and held their own till the fourth when the Marlins tied it. In the fifth, the Marlins added two more runs and held SEB from scoring again.

Tyrus Asberry (2014, Atlanta, GA) led the East Cobb Marlins with two hits, double and single. He drove in two RBIs in the game and was able to draw a walk. Bradley Harmon (2015, Fayetteville, GA) notched two singles of his own. Dondrei Hubbard (2015, Canton, GA) drove in a run with his base hit. 

The Marlins threw three pitchers out in the game. Hubbard started and went three innings allowing four hits and only one run to cross. Bryant Auburn (2014, Hiram, GA) came in relief for an inning and struck out two of the five batters he faced. Russ McGlamry (2015, Canton, GA) showed some consistency going the last three innings and only allowing two hits and no runs to cross. He was able to strike out three batters on his 87 mph fastball. 

Noah Uhry (2015, Dacula, GA) led the offense for SEB 17/18U with three singles. Jake Woolery (2015, Athens, GA) had two base knocks and drove in one run. 

Asberry leads his team to a win

Tyrus Asberry (2014, North Atlanta, GA) had a great day at the plate for the East Cobb Marlins in the 3-1 win over SEB 17/18U White.  He went 2 for 2 with a double and two RBI's.  Bradley Harmon (2015, Fayette County, GA) pitched in with two singles.  Dondrei Hubbard (2014, Creekview, GA) started for the Marlins. In three innings, he struck out one and allowed four hits. His fastball was in the high 70's and touch 82 mph.   Russ McGlamry (2014, Sequoyah, GA) came in to pitched three innings.  He fanned three and allowed zero walks .  His impressive fastball was in the mid 80's and touched 87 mph.

Noah Uhry (2015, Hebron Christian, GA) led SEB with three singles.  Jake Woolery (2015, Prince Ave Christian, GA) pitched in with two hits.  Javier Lopez (2015, Greater Atlanta, GA) pitched and his fastball was in the low 80's.

Gipson Leads Sandlot to 8-1 Win

The Sandlot defeated the Gold Glove Elite 18U 8-1 in seven innings. 

For the Sandlot, Logan Gipson (2014, Tulsa, OK) led the team in hits and tied for most RBIs and runs. He collected 3 hits, two being doubles, with two RBIs and two runs. Luke Preaus (2014, Tulsa, OK) matched with two RBIs and runs, but came up two base knocks. Garrett Hall (2014, Owasso, OK) drove in a run with his RBI single, and Walt Wrona (2014, Tulsa, OK) drove in a run and scored once too.

Cole Wheaton (2014, Broken Arrow, OK) pitched the complete game one run victory for the Sandlot. He struck out seven batters while letting three hits drop. He let one earned run cross in his  seven innings of work. He topped out at 88 mph and ranged around 84 to 86 with his fastball. He also showed a curve and a slider on the mound.

Devan Harriman (2014, Pensacola, FL) and Nate Gilmore (2015, Fort Walton Beach, FL) notched two of the there hits for the Golf Glove. Ryan Gauci (2014, Pensacola, FL) pitched six innings of the game by only giving up one earned run with five strike outs while topping out at 87 mph on the fastball. 

BigStix Late Miscues cause Tie

The BigStix Gamers were unable to hold on to a late lead as poor defense allowed two runs to score in the top of the seventh inning allowing Mizuno to tie the game as they would finish in a 3-3 tie. The Gamers committed four errors in a game they looked certain to win behind a strong performance from their starter.

George went five innings in his start for the Gamers, allowing only one unearned run on three hits while walking two and striking out four. He used mostly fastballs, sitting 79-81 mph and using a straight change in the upper 60's to keep hitters off balance. 

The two teams combined for only one RBI when the Gamers' Torrell was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the fourth inning. 

Atlanta Dodgers Grab Win in bottom of 7th

The St. Louis Blue Chips/Rawlings Prospects scored a run in the top of the seventh inning to tie the game at 6 a piece.  In the bottom of the seventh with two outs, the Atlanta Dodgers plated one run to grab the win 7-6 on Erickie Godfrey's (2016, Kipp Atlanta Colligiate, GA) infield single.

Godfrey finished the game at the plate going 1-2 with the game-winning RBI.  Tyrik Jones (2016, The Galloway, GA) went 2-4 in the game with two runs scored and an RBI.  Tyler Adams (2016, Apalachee HS, GA) went 2-3 with two RBIs in the contest.  On the mound, Godfrey also pitched 3.1 innings, flashing a fastball that topped out at 81 mph.

For the Blue Chips/Rawlings Prospects, leadoff hitter Max Whitehead (2015, Arapahoe HS, CO) went 4-4 with two runs and an RBI, a one stolen base.  Alec Moens (2015, Evergreen HS, CO) went 2-5 with a double, a run scored and an RBI in the contest.  Trace Mulberry (2015, Green Mountain HS, CO) pitched four innings, striking out four, and he too showed a fastball that topped out at 81 mph in the game.


Boatwright's Complete Game Leads Mizuno

Bret Boatwright (2015, River Ridge, GA) allowed only one run in a complete game winning effort to lead Mizuno to a 5-2 victory over the East Cobb Renegades. Boatwright allowed only two runs (one earned) on four hits while walking one and striking out six to lift Mizuno to victory on Saturday afternoon. The Canton native mixed all three of his pitches well to keep hitters off balance, attacking with a mid 70's fastball that reached 78 mph and used his mid 60's curve to put hitters away. 

Max Benning (2015, North Forsyth, GA) and Tyler Clack (2015, Alpharetta, GA) each had two RBI for Mizuno as Benning's RBI double in the sixth put the game out of reach for the Renegades. 

Players Edge Comes away with 8-6 Win

Players Edge 18U scores three runs in the fifth inning and five more runs in the sixth as they defeated the East Cobb Indians 8-6 in a late inning back-and-forth matchups.  The Indians scored all six of it's runs in the top of the sixth inning, but fell short after the Edge bounced back with five of it's own in the bottom of the inning.

Leadoff hitter Manny Rojas (2015, Zion Lutheran HS, FL) led the way for Players Edge going 2-3 at the plate with two doubles, an RBI, and a run scored.  Rutger Spartz (2015, Park Vista Community, FL) went 1-2 with two runs scored.  Blayne Baker (2014, Zion Lutheran HS, FL) 1-1 with two runs scored, an RBI, and two drawn walks.  On the mound, Grant Mahoney (2015, West Boca Raton HS, FL) pitched 5.1 innings of work for Players Edge, striking out four, and flashing a fastball that topped out 81 mph.  He showed the ability to hid the ball well during his pitching motion, and was able to be around the plate with all pitches.

For the Indians, Andrew Burchell (2015, Harrison HS, GA) went 2-3 in the game with a run scored and an RBI.  Noah Karst (2014, Etowah HS, GA) and Mathew Jones (2014, Walton HS, GA) each contributed to the offense with a double a piece.  Connor O'Mahony (2015, Northview HS, GA) went four innings for the Indians, striking out five, showing good command and the ability to throw strikes, as well as a fastball that averaged 84-86/87 mph.


Alabama-Johnson and Bandits end in tie

The offensive struggles between Team Alabama-Johnson and the Georgia Bandits ended in a 1-1 tie with both teams combining for just eight hit total in the ball game.

For Alabama-Johnson, John Marc Mullins (2017, Homewood HS, AL) went 2-3 with two doubles in the contest.  Keegan Morrow (2016, Hewitt-Trussville HS, AL) and Reid Gardner (2015, Pelham HS, AL) each went 1-2 at the plate.  On the mound, Ben Brakefield (2017, Hayden HS, AL) went 6.2 innings giving up no earned runs, and displayed a fastball that averaged 69-78/79 mph.

Schwartz went 1-2 for the Bandits with a double.  On the mound, Will Sheffield (2015, Central HS, GA) went four innings and showed a fastball that averaged 74-79/80 mph.  Nick Wise (2014, Alexander HS, GA) pitched one inning of work, with a fastball that topped out at 85 mph.  Connor Hawkins (2015, West Forsyth HS, GA) pitched two innings, and displayed a fastball that peaked at 82 mph, while averaging 80-81 mph.  He also showed a variety of off-speed pitches.


Watkins pitches Gem for East Cobb Astros

Max Wotel struck out 18 in a complete game effort as the East Cobb Astros defeated the Rawlings Recruits 4-2.  Rawlings Recruits showed life in the top of the seventh bouncing back with two runs of their own, but came up short.

East Cobb plated three runs in the first inning and another in the fourth, and that was plenty of run support that Watkins needed to pick up the win.  Wotel showed a very lively fastball that topped out at 90 mph and averaged 87-89 mph the rest of the way, while also showing the ability to mix in a just a small handful of off-speed pitches.

Alonzo Jones (2015, Columbus HS, GA), a Vanderbilt commit, went 3-3 at the plate with a triple and a run scored.  Thomas Johns (2016, Clay-Chalkville HS, AL) went 1-2 with a homerun, a run scored and an RBI.  Landon Faulkner (2014, Mt. Paran Christian, GA) and Chase Illig (2015, Tazewell HS, VA), a College of Charleston commit, also chipped in on the offense end with a double a piece.

For Rawlings Recruits, Ryan Jasinski (2014, Seckmon Sr. HS, MO) went 1-3 with a double.  Connor Whalen (2015, Parkway West HS, MO) pitched a complete game for the Recruits


Jayhawks Never Surrender Early Lead

The Denny Pritchett Jayhawks 18u took a 6-0 lead after two innings and let their pitching do the work as they cruised to a 6-2 win over Tiger USA Baseball. 
Avery Smith, (2014, Creekview HS, GA), a Georgia Highlands commit, led the Jayhawks offensively going 2-3 with a triple, 2 RBIs and two runs scored. Nick Williams, (2014, Creekview HS, GA) also contributed two hits for the Jayhawks and a RBI as well. Starting pitcher Daniel McCrary, (2014, New Lumpkin County HS, GA) turned in a solid performance throwing five innings giving up just two runs on three hits and struck out three. Chase Peterson, (2014, Forsyth Central HS, GA) pitched well in relief throwing two innings allowing just one hit and recorded two strikeouts. 
Jason Davis, (2014, Southwest Dekalb HS, GA) had a good game both at the plate and on the mound for Tiger USA Baseball, At the plate he had one hit and one RBI and on the mound, he threw 4.1 innings of relief allowing no runs, one hit and struck out two. 

Marlins Score Often in 8-1 Win

The Fairfield Marlins scored eight runs in the first four innings putting the game out of reach in a 8-1 win over the Game Ready Athletics-18's. 
The Marlins were led offensively by Jerry King, (2015, Lancaster HS, OH), who had two hits in the game, including a triple and scored two runs. CJ Stableine, (2015, Orange HS, OH), and Alex Arck, (2015, Mount Vernon HS, OH) also had two hits for the Marlins. Stableine scored a run and Arck drove in one run. 
Jacob Bolton, (2015, Bishop Watterson HS, OH), delivered a nice pitching performance throwing four innings and allowed one run on three hits and struck out nine. Bolton averaged 81-83 mph on his fastball and topped out at 87 mph. Bolton showed a smooth delivery that allowed him to throw all of his pitches around the plate and throw plenty of strikes. Brody McGrath, (2015, Alexander HS, OH), pitched two scoreless innings of relief only allowing one hit and tallying two strikeouts. 
Aaron Turk, (2015, Centennial HS, GA), had a nice game offensively for the Game Ready Athletics recording a hit, a RBI and walk. 

SoCal NTT drops the A's Select 10-4

SoCal NTT continued to bash opponents into submission, winning their third straight game while scoring at least 10 runs. They were led by starting pitcher Mike McKenna (2014, Fernandina Beach HS, FL). McKenna threw three innings, allowing all four runs which were unearned on two hits, three walks, a hit by pitch and six strike outs. On the mound he worked with a 79-83 mph fastball and 67-70 mph curve. He was also 1-3 with a two-run homer at the plate. Brady Johnson (2014, Rehobeth HS, AL) tripled and reached on an error, scoring both times on base. Johnson also threw four innings on the mound, allowing just one hit, a hit batter and one walk with three strike outs. He sat 81-86 mph with his heater and peaked at 89 mph. He also mixed in a 72 mph curve and 73 mph slider. 

Austin Reynolds (2014, Blackman HS, TN) was 3-4 at the plate with two runs scored, while Nicholas Ready (2015, Jesuit College Prep HS, TX) was 2-4 with two doubles and an RBI, and Chandler Avant (2014, Pike Liberal Arts HS, AL) was 1-4 with a solo home run. Reynolds is a Columbia State CC commit, and Avant is committed to the University of Alabama. Turner Vincent (2014, Northview HS, AL) was 1-1 with a single, he was hit by a pitch, stole a base, and scored one run.

Hector Montano (2014, Calusa Preparatory HS, FL) was wild on the mound for A's Select, but did strike out five in four innings. He was bringing the heat up to 91 mph, sitting 87-90 mph with life, and he maintained his velocity through his outing. He also threw a good 68-70 slider from a high 3/4 arm angle and a 79 mph change up. 

Ozzie Millet (2016, Terra Environmental Research Institute, FL) led the A's Select offense and was 2-3 with a double and two RBI.  


Chappell Leads Powermill to 3-1 Win

Zachary Chappell, (2014, Bishop Verot HS, FL) pitched six strong innings giving up five hits and no runs while striking out three for Powermill 18u in a 3-1 win over Coastal Georgia Baseball. 
Chappell received run support from teammate Dallas Oliver, (2014, Chipley HS, FL), a Lawson State Community College Commit, who went 2-3 with a double, a RBI and a run scored. Payton Dixon, (2014, Thomasville HS, FL) also contributed a RBI and a base hit. 
Bradley Felkel, (2013, Valdosta HS, GA), a Valdosta State commit, had a good game offensively for Coastal Georgia Baseball by hitting a triple and drawing a walk. Tanner Davis, (2015, Glynn Academy HS, GA), turned in a good start throwing two innings and not allowing any runs or hits while striking out one. 

East Cobb Yankees torch Florida Bandits 15-2

The East Cobb Yankees offense was firing on all cylinders and their pitching was even better. The Florida Bandits were the unfortunate victims in their way today, falling 15-2.

The Yankees were led by Patrick Wiseman (2014, Pope HS, GA) who launched a three run homer in the first inning, part of a 1-3 game with four RBI and three runs scored. He showed light tower power to all fields with a live bat and a large 6'5 220 pound frame. Wade Bailey (2014, Villa Rica HS, GA) was 2-4 with a double, hit by pitch, three runs scored and three stolen bases. Joey Bart (2015, Buford HS, GA) was 2-2 with two RBI, two runs scored, and a walk. Matt Mixon (2014, North Paulding HS, GA) was 2-2 with a walk, stolen base, and three runs scored, and Tyler Heinrichs (2015, Walton HS, GA) drove in two going 1-3. Wiseman, Bailey, and Bart are all commited to Georgia Tech, while Heinrichs is committed to Tulane.

Though the Bandits scored twice, they did so without getting a hit. The made the most of three errors by the Yankees and one walk. Shane Tucker (2015, Union Grove HS, GA) was credited with the win as he threw 2.2 innings, allowing the two unearned runs on the one walk and five strike outs. He overpowered the opposition with a 86-90 mph fastball he could sink or run that touched 92 mph. Tucker maintains his velocity well with a plus, heavy, explosive fastball that he can elevate and overpower hitters with. He also featured a nasty 81-83 mph slider with late break and good command of the pitch. He's got a balanced delivery with a 3/4 arm slot, throws strikes, and is committed to attend the University of Georgia.

Carter Hall (2015, Wesleyan HS, GA) and Keyton Gibson (2015, Buford HS) each threw a dominant inning with no base runners allowed while Gibson notched one strike out. Hall was touching 91 mph and sitting 89-91 mph with his fastball and featured an 83 mph slider. He's got a strong, athletic frame coming from a 3/4 arm angle with good arm action. Gibson used pinpoint command and effortless arm action to blow away hitters with an 89-91 mph fastball with armside run and life. He works fast and attacks hitters with outstanding arm speed with solid arm action. He also hides the ball very well and shows two breaking balls with the 12-6 curve showing better. It's a true Uncle Charlie with late break and is his out pitch, sitting around 74-75 mph.


The Florida Bandits were handcuffed all game by the Yankees pitching but there is something to be said for them being the first team to score on the Yankees so far in the tournament. Jacob Schenck (2014, Lecanto HS, FL) worked the only walk for the Bandits and he came around to score. Ryan Gilbert (2015, Tavares HS, FL) scored the other run after reaching on an error.

BlackCrackers Win Pitching Duel 2-1

The Georgia BlackCrackers Baseball pitchers didn't a allow a run after giving up one in the first inning leading their team to a 2-1 victory over Team Alabama. 
Trey Seldon, (2014, Hardaway HS, GA) was the starting pitcher for the BlackCrackers and threw five strong innings allowing one run on one hit while striking out five. Seldon was relieved by teammate Greg Elder who pitched two scoreless innings of relief and didn't allow any hits or runs while striking out two. Elder dominated the strike zone by throwing 77 percent of his pitches for strikes. 
The BlackCrackers received offensive production from Jalin Thomas, (2016, Shaw HS, GA), who had one hit in two trips to the plate and scored a run. Jacorrey Crowell, (2014, Shaw HS, GA), also had a good game offensively getting one hit and also drawing a walk. 
Austin Kitterman, (2016, Russellville HS, AL) had a solid game offensively for Team Alabama hitting a RBI double in the first inning. 

212 A's 18u pound out 15 hits in win

The 212 A's 18u held on for a 6-5 win over the NB Naturals 17/18u, despite having 15 hits. Jarrod Crum (2014, Warner Robins), a Georgia Southwestern State commit, picked up the win in 3 innings perfect innings of relief. He allowed just 1 hit and struck out 3 hitters.

Ben Clark (2013, Newnan) and Crandall Poore (2014, Jones County) each were a perfect 3-3 at the plate for the A's 18u. Clark also added 2 runs scored.

Jake Wilkinson (2014, Whitewater), a West Georgia commit, James Poropatic (2014, Northgate), and Clay Jackson (2014, Sandy Creek) each collected two hits for the A's 18u.

Brandon NeSmith-Hicks (2015, River Ridge) provided the offense for the NB Naturals going 2-3 with 2 runs scored.

East Cobb Dodgers lead from start to finish

The East Cobb Dodgers scored 4 runs in the first inning and never looked back to beat the Excel Blue Wave 5-2. Cortez (CJ) Carter (2016, Decatur) pitched a complete game and picked up the win for the Dodgers. He allowed just 2 earned on 3 hits, while striking out 7 hitters.

Joey Santoro (2013, Cambridge) lead the offense for the Dodgers going 2-3 with 2 runs scored.

Miles Jones (2016, Whitewater), Matthew Broadhead (2014, Harrison), and Zachary Randolph (2014, Harrison) each collected 2 hits for the Dodgers as well.

Upstate Mavericks too much for opponent

The Upstate Mavericks were given a great pitching performance and a lot of run support to cruise to a 9-1 victory over Choice Baseball Club. Craig Williams (2014, Peachtree Ridge), a Chipola College commit, pitched all 5 innings for the Mavericks allowing just 4 hits and no earned runs, while striking out 8 hitters. Williams showed impressive mound presence while consistently throwing his fastball between 86-88. He lit up the radar guns a few times by touching 90 mph.

Cade Mullins (2014, Homewood), a Tallahassee CC commit, provided the offense for the Mavericks. He went 2-4 with an RBI and 2 runs scored.

Mason McClellan (2014, Union Grove), a Lake Sumter CC commit, also had a solid game offensively for the Mavericks. He went 1-2 with two runs scored.

Prospects Defeat Dodgers 6-5

The St. Louis Blue Chip/ Rawlings Prospects were able to hold on and take the win over the East Cobb Dodgers 6-5. The Prospects put on an offensive display, with three different players registering multi-base hits led by Dakota Marley (2015, Legend HS, CO). Marley put together a 2-4 day at the plate picking up a double, an RBI, a run scored, and a stolen base. The Dodgers outhit their opponent 7-6 and were led at the plate by a 2-3 game with an RBI, a stolen base, and a run scored by Cortez (CJ) Carter (2016, Decatur HS, GA), but couldn't overcome 13 team strikeouts.

Emilio Martinez (2015, Coronado HS, CO) takes the win for the Prospects for his two and a third innings of scoreless relief work to close out the game. Martinez allowed one hit while walking none and striking out five with a four pitch rotation that featured a late breaking slider that proved to be his out pitch. Martinez came in relief of starting pitcher Nick Kakavas (2015, Peak to Peak HS, CO). Kakavas allowed six hits and five runs, all unearned, while walking two and striking out eight. 

Alex Hess (2014, Lassiter, GA) is credited with the loss for the Dodgers for his five and a third innings on the mound, allowingfive hits and five runs, three earned, while walking six and striking out eight. Hess showed a balanced delivery and that he competes on the mound, but was plagued by stiff arm action and a tendency to muscle the ball. 

Savannah Chain 18u drops Chargers 8-3

Savannah Chain 18u received a gutsy start from Chris Drauker (2015, Cavalry Baptist Day HS, GA) and a pair of three hit games on offense to beat the Georgia Highlands Scout Team Chargers.

Drauker was in control the whole day, throwing a complete game with three runs allowed on five hits and three walks with no strike outs. His fastball was sitting in the 77-79 mph range most of the game but he reached back for a max velocity of 83 mph. Drauker also used a good 67-71 mph curveball coming from a high 3/4 arm slot. He gets good extension out front from a medium frame with room to fill out.

Christian Odom (2014, Herschel Jenkins HS, GA) picked up a trio of singles on the day, driving in two with one run scored himself to go with a stolen base. Michael Farmer (2014, Effingham County HS, GA) singled three times as well, also knocking in two runs and stealing two bases while Jacob Teston (2014, Richmond Hill HS, GA) singled twice with a walk and a run scored. 

Chase Jones (2014, South Terrebonne HS, GA) handled most of the pitching for the Chargers, using his huge 6'5 190 pound frame to pump fastballs in the low to mid 80's through 4.1 innings. He topped out at 86 mph with three offspeed pitches, all in the 71-74 mph range - a curve, change up and slider. 

The Chargers line up was only able to get one extra base hit and that was off the bat of Turner Edwards (2013, North Paulding HS, GA) who doubled and drove one run in. Trip Streetman (2014, Hiram HS, GA) was on base all day, working two walks with a single as well. 

Late inning runs lift Blue Chips to 6-5 W

The St. Louis Blue Chips/Rawlings Prospects scored two late runs in the bottom of the sixth to take the lead and eventually go on to defeat the East Cobb Dodgers 6-5.

Zachary Gasaway (2015, Durango HS, CO), Cason Winn (2016, Silver Creek HS, CO), and Dakota Marley (2015, Legend HS, CO) each chipped in on the offensive end for the Blue Chips with a double in the game.  Alec Moens (2015, Evergreen HS, CO) went 2-4 in the game with two runs scored and a stolen base.  Nick Kakavas (2015, Peak to Peak HS, CO) pitched 4.2 innings, striking out eight and giving up no earned runs.  He was able to show good command and was around the plate with all of his pitches and showed a fastball that topped out at 82 mph.  Emilio Martinez (2015, Coronado HS, CO) pitched the final 2.1 innings, with the ability to throw strikes, and also displayed a fastball that topped at 82 mph.

For East Cobb, leadoff hitter Cortez Carter (2016, Decatur HS, GA) went 2-3 at the plate with an RBI, a run scored and one stolen base.  Alex Hess (2014, Lassiter HS, GA) pitched 5.1 innings for East Cobb, striking out eight, showing his discipline on the mound and was able to compete against the hitters by throwing strikes often.


Team Alabama explodes offensively for win

Team Alabama pounded out 11 hits en route to a 11-3 win over Prospects Baseball. Team Alabama used big innings in the first, third, and fourth to ultimately pull away and take the game in 5 innings.

Tyler Tolbert (2016, Hewitt-Trussville) provided the spark offensively for Team Alabama going an impressive 3-3 with 2 doubles. He also added an RBI and a run scored.

Payton Young (2016, Piedmont) was equally impressive for Team Alabama going 2-3 with 3 RBI and 2 runs scored. Logan Brashier (2015, Pelham) and Lance Johnson (2016, Thompson) each provided 2 hits of their own as well.

Kirby Thomas (2014, Kennesaw Mountain) went a perfect 2-2 at the plate for Prospects Baseball. He also scored 2 of the 3 runs for the team.

Fairfield Marlins cruise past Bandits 11-2

The Fairfield Marlins jumped out to an early 3-0 lead after the first inning, and went on to cruise to an 11-2 victory over the Florida Bandits.

Evan McDonald (2015, Logan Elm HS, OH) went 2-2 at the plate for the Marlins, with two RBIs, two runs scored, and a stolen base.  Leadoff hitter Kameron Herring (2014, Heath HS, OH) went 2-3 with 2 runs scored, an RBI and a stolen base.  Jacob Bolten (2015, Bishop Watterson HS, OH) was 1-3 with a triple and two RBIs with a run scored.  Tavin Howard (2014, Briggs HS, OH) and Brody McGrath (2015, Alexander HS, OH) each had a double in the contest.  On the mound for the Marlins, Zac Morris (2015, Heath HS, OH) went 4.2 innings of work striking out eight, and had some good velocity on his fastball that topped out at 81 mph, while averaging 78-80 mph.

For the Bandits, Wes Moulden (2014, Eustis HS, FL) pitched four innings, striking out five and just allowing two walks.  He displayed a fastball that peaked at 85 mph and averaged 80-84 mph, while also mixing in a number of curveballs and changeups.

The Cincinnati Riverbats/Team Combat used a stellar pitching performance from their starter to grab a 6-0 win over Prospects Baseball. James Leisinger (2014, Lakota East) went 6 innings to pick up the win for Cincinnati. He impressed allowing just 3 hits over that span, while striking out 6 batters.

Max Minniear (2014, Lakota East) lead Cincinnati offensively going 2-4 with 3 runs scored. Adam McDonough (2015, Lakota East) also added 2 hits in 3 tries, while producing 2 RBI as well.

Trevor Nevill (2014, Cherokee), a Reinhardt College commit, went 2-3 and lead the offense for Prospects Baseball.

Panter's strong pitching leads Titans to 5-1 win

The 18U Titans defeated Players Edge 18U Friday night behind the strong pitching performance of starter Glenn Panter (2014, Walton HS, GA). Panter threw 5 innings allowing only 1 run on 2 hits and striking out 10 to earn the victory. He featured a fastball that averaged a velocity of 79-83 mph and topped out at 85 mph. 2014 Southeast Region Honorable Mention Tristan Roberts (2014, Sequoyah HS, GA) handled the final 2 innings of the game and allowed only 1 base runner. Roberts averaged a velocity of 81-86 mph and threw as high as 88 mph.

Roberts also contributed at the plate, going 1-3 with a double and 1 run scored. Elliot Berrey (2015, Cartersville HS, GA) had a nice day offensively for the Titans as well. Berrey finished the game 1-2 with 1 run scored and 2 RBI. Braden Harris (2015, Woodland HS, GA), CJ Windham (2016, Mceachem HS, GA), and Nick Pippin (2015, East Coweta HS, GA) each had 1 RBI for the winners.

The offense for Players Edge 18U was paced by Johnny Mendez (2014, Coral Glades HS, FL), who finished 3-3 with an RBI.

Strong pitching leads Mavericks to 4-1 win

The Upstate Mavericks won on Friday night over Georgia Highlands Scout Team Chargers 4-1 behind strong pitching from starter Robert Westenrieder (2014, Blue Ridge HS, SC). Westenrieder pitched 5 scoreless innings for the victorious Mavericks and struck out 9 batters. He threw his fastball 77-80 mph and reached a maximum velocity of 83 mph. Richard Jackson (2014, Woodward Academy, GA) and 2014 Atlantic - All Region 1st Team selection Jon Rosoff (2014, Daniels HS, NC) finished the final 2 innings of the contest and combined to strike out 6 total batters.

Offensively, the Mavericks were led by 2014 Southeast Region Honorable Mention, Jascanel Ferreras (2014, Norcross HS, GA). Ferreras finished the game 2-3 with a double, a walk, a stolen base, and 1 RBI. Jon Rosoff also scored 2 runs, walked, and stole a base for the winners. 

Turner Edwards (2014, North Paulding HS, GA) and Tucker Wright (2015, North Paulding HS, GA) collected the only hits for Georgia Highlands Scout Team Chargers, both finishing 1-2. Hayden Edwards (2016, North Paulding HS, GA) scored the lone run for the Chargers.

Chase Jones (2015, Newnan HS, GA) finished the final 2/3 innings for the Chargers and averaged a velocity on his fastball of 82-83 mph and reached a maximum velocity of 87 mph. 


Gold Gloves wins in close game.

Gold Glove Elite 18u win in close victory today over the 212 A's 18u. Gold Gloves had a couple hot bats today at the plate. Nate Gilmore (Choctawhatchee Senior, Fort Walton Beach, FL 2015) went 2-3, scored two runs and had three RBI's. Devan Harrison (Escambia, Pensacola, FL 2014) went 2-3, scoring one run and had one RBI. 212 A's had a couple of good hitters today too. Matthew Rhodes (Whitewater, Fayetteville, GA 2014) went 2-3, scored two runs and had three RBI's. Taylor Turner (Whitewater, Fayetteville, GA 2014, North Georgia College & State) went 1-3 and had one RBI.

Pitching was alright for the day. Both pitchers didn't really have their best day. Tyler Johnson (Washington Senior, Pensacola, FL 2014, L.B. WAllace CC) pitched 4.1 innings worth while giving up six hits, three runs, three walks, striking out three and gave up home run. Jonathan Hendershot (Whitewater, Fayetteville, GA 2014) pitched four innings of work while giving up eight hits, five runs, one walk, striking out one and giving up a home run.

Excel Blue Wave cruise past Atlanta Dodgers 8-0. Excel Blue Wave had two good hitters today Joey Jordan(Handley, Wadley, AL 2015) and Clayton Daniel(Guntersville, Guntersville, AL 2015, Jacksonville State). Jordan went 2-2 for the day, scored two runs and had two RBI's. Daniel went 3-3 for the day, scored two runs and had two RBI's also. Atlanta Dodgers had a couple good hitters today too, Tyrik Jones(The Galloway, Atlanta, GA 2016) and Zakkee Freeman(Southwest Dekalb, Lithonia, GA 2016). Jones went 1-2 for the day and Jones went 1-3.

Pitching was pretty solid for both teams today as both pitchers held their own. Brady Padgett(Cleburne Co, Hefline, AL 2015) got win today and pitched a solid three innings while giving up one walk and two strikeouts. Padgett's fastball range today was 79-82 mph. Tyler Sylvester(Southwest Dekalb, Lithonia, GA 2016) pitched pretty well today too, but didn't pull out the win. Sylvester lasted four innings while giving up six hits, eight runs, four walks, and striking out five. His fastball range today was a solid 78-82 mph.

Savannah Chain 18U churned out 13 runs en route to a 13-4 victory over Choice Baseball Club on Friday.

Shane Buerster (2014, Richmond Hill HS, GA) had a stellar day for Savannah, slugging a home run and driving in four runs. Mike Huggins (2014, Benedictine Military Academy, GA) and Jacob Teston (2014, Effingham County HS, GA) also drove in two runs for the Chain. Huggins also had three hits. Phillip Swindell (2014, Long County HS, GA) added two runs scored.

On the mound, Adam Johnson (2014, Edmond Burke Academy, GA) tossed a complete game, striking out eight hitters and scattering ten hits and four runs. Johnson's fastball topped out at 86 mph, sitting between 78-83. 

Jonathan Goudeau (2016, Mceachern HS, GA) and Jonathan Wells (2014, Mceachern HS, GA) each had two hits for Choice, leading their offense to four runs over the five innings of play.

Despite a rough outing, Bryan Quillens (2014, Pebblebrook HS, GA) displayed a fastball that topped out at 90 mph.

Tigers USA Baseball cruise past BigStix Gamers in a 10-2 win. Tigers Baseball scored four runs in the fifth to help seal the deal. TJ Young (Druid Hills, Decatur, GA 2014) was hot today at the plate. Young went perfect 2-2, drove in one run and scored two runs. Andrew Gomez for BigStix Gamers was the hot bat today as he went 1-3 for the day and scored one run.

Pitching was decent for the day. They were a lot of pitchers used in the ball game. Stanley for the BigStix Gamers pitched most of ball game today. He pitched four innings while giving up five hits, five runs, one walk, and three strikeouts. Zachary Meier (Providence Christian, Stone Mountain, GA 2014) also did a lot of the pitching for the Tigers. Meier tossed five innings worth while giving up five hits, two runs, two walks and four strikeouts.

Late Surge Powers Tiger USA to Triumph

Seven runs in the final three innings of the game led Tiger USA Baseball to a 10-2 win over BigStix Gamers on Friday.

Tiger USA utilized ten singles to plate their ten runs. Four players — Jordan Hollins (2016, Paideia HS, GA), Kameron Barlow (2014, Fayette County HS, GA), Rickey Butts (2015, Mundy's Mill HS, GA), and TJ Young (2014, Druid Hills HS, GA) — all singled twice. Adding two runs batted in was Malik White (2014, Southwest Dekalb HS, GA), while Hollins, Barlow, and Young all scored twice.

On the mound, Zachary Meier (2014, Providence Christian HS, GA) pitched four of the five innings, allowing two earned runs with four strikeouts. In one inning of relief, David Bethel (2014, Southwest Dekalb HS, GA) struck out three with no hits or runs. Meier's fastball peaked at 78 mph, while Bethel's peaked at 74 mph.


Hughes Spins Gem in Win for Yankees

Jonathan Hughes (2015, Flowery Branch HS, GA) spun a one-hit gem to lead East Cobb Yankees to a 8-0 victory over Game Ready Athletics 18s. Hughes went 4.1 of the game's five innings, striking out ten hitters and walking two. Hughes, a Georgia Tech commit and the top-ranked right-hander in Georgia, displayed sound mechanics and a good slider to go with his powerful fastball. He topped out at 93 mph, sitting between 88-91.

Hughes was relieved by Seth Pierce (2015, McCallie HS, GA), who finished the final 0.2 innings of the game. Pierce allowed one hit and struck out one. Pierce's fastball peaked at 81 mph.

Offensively, the Yankees were led by a big game from Georgia Tech recruit Joey Bart (2015, Buford HS, GA). Bart, one of the top five catchers from Georgia in his class, drove in four runs, picking up two doubles on the day. Tyler Stephenson (2015, Kennesaw Mountain HS, GA), another Yellow Jacket commit, also added two singles and two runs scored, with another batted in. 

Other runs for the Yankees were driven in by Georgia Tech commit Wade Bailey (2014,Villa Rica HS, GA), Matt Mixon (2014, North Paulding HS, GA) and a fifth Yellow Jacket recruit, Blake Jackson (2014, Houston County HS, GA)

Savannah Defeats Upstate

Svannah Chain 18u defeats Upstate Mavericks 7-5. Savannah Chains was sparked by Mike Huggins (Bendictine Military, Savannah, GA 2014, Darton College) and Shane, who teamed up for four hits and two RBI's. Cade Mullins (Homewood, Homewood, AL 2014 Tallahassee CC) and Sheperd were two hot hitters for Upstate Mavericks today. Mullins went 1-4 for the day, scoring one run and racking two RBI's. Shepherd went 1-3 for the day, scoring one run and one RBI.

Richard gave up five 5 2/3, but the bullpen surrendered no runs and the offense banged out eight to pick up the slack and secure the win for Savannah Chain 18u. Travis was the losing pitcher. He lasted just three innings, walked none, struck out four, allowed five runs. T. Moths fastball range for the day was a solid 84-88 mph. T. Dibrell fastball range for the day was 87-90 mph. R. Lovelady fastball range for the day was 82-88 mph.

Team Elite 18U beat Georgia Banditos

Team Elite 18u take out Georgia Banditos with help from Isiah Gilliam, 3-0. Isiah Gilliam (Parkview, Lilburn, GA 2014, Chipola College) had two extra base hits, helping Team Elite 18u win the game. He homered in the first inning and doubled in the sixth inning. Sepnieski went 1-3 today for the Georgia Banditos.

Georgia Banditos couldn't anything done going so long as Brandon Etheridge (Cass, Cartersville, GA 2014) was on the hill. The Banditos managed just one hit off of Etheridge, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out five during his four innings of work. Schwartz pitched really well today as he only allowed one run while striking out six. Schwartz's fastball range today was a solid 87-89 mph. Estheridge's fastball range today was a solid 83-86 mph.

Madison-Ridgeland Scores Six in First, Wins

Madison-Ridgeland Academy scored six runs in the first inning, four more in the second, and cruised to a 13-4 five-inning victory over Players Edge 18U. 

Brooks Edwards (2015, Madison-Ridgeland Academy, MS) had a standout day for Madison-Ridgeland, driving in four runs with two doubles and a single, scoring twice. Tyler Kirby (2015, Madison-Ridgeland Academy, MS) and Zach Cooley (2016, Madison-Ridgeland Academy, MS) each drove in two runs with two hits a piece. Austin Dillon (2015, Madison-Ridgeland Academy, MS) added two hits in the victory, and Karter Bounds (2016, Madison-Ridgeland Academy, MS) scored twice.

Corgan Green (2015, Madison-Ridgeland Academy, MS) earned the win for Madison-Ridgeland, allowing three runs over four innings with four strikeouts. Tossing the final inning was Alex Dunmire (2015, Madison-Ridgeland Academy, MS), who allowed a run on two hits in the fifth. Green's fastball reached 76 mph, and Dunmire's topped out at 73 mph.

Johnny Mendez (2014, Coral Glades HS, FL) was the offensive leader for Players Edge, singling twice with a run scored and another batted in.

Francis Sugrue hits and pitches Mizuno Team GA Baseball Academy 17u Red to 5-0 victory. Sugrue was big on the mound and plate for the Mizuno team. Francis got on base two times in the game. He singled in the second inning. Justin Silvey was the hot hitter today for the Team Avenue Aces. Silvey went 2-3 for the day.

Max Benning got the win in relief for Mizuno Team GA Baseball Academy 17U Red. Max pitched four innings and allowed no runs. Marshall Parrish was charged with the loss. He lasted just three innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed three runs. Benning's fastball range today was 77-80 mph.

Adam McDonough gives Cincinnati Riverboats/Team Combat late push to beat Georgia BlackCrackers Baseball 5-4. McDonough brought home the game winning run. Max Minniear (Lakota East, Liberty Township, OH 2014) was hot hitter for Cincinnati Riverboats/Team Combat. Minniear went 2-4 for the day and scored one run. Josh Anthony (Hardaway, Columbus, GA 2014, Western Oklahoma State College) and Samuel Anthony (Hardaway, Columbus, GA 2016) were the two hot hitters today. Josh went 1-2 for the day, scored one run and had two RBI's. Samuel went 1-3 for the day and scored one run.

Austin Feltner (Glen Este, Cincinnati, OH 2015) pitched pretty well today. Feltner tossed five innings worth while giving up eight hits, four runs, two walks and four strikeouts. Tre'Von Dorsey (Hardaway, Columbus, GA 2016) also pitched pretty well for his team. Dorsey pitched 6.1 innings while giving up seven hits, five runs, six walks, and seven strikeouts. Dorsey's fastball range for the day was 82-86 mph.

Austin Reynolds (Blackman, Smyrna, TN 2014, Columbia State CC) for the So Cal NTT was the stud pitcher for the day. Reynolds strike outs eight for the day while giving no earned runs, three hits, and one walk over five innings of work. Zach Conn (Fayette County, Fayetteville, GA 2015) was the losing pitcher for the day. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed four runs. Reynolds's fastball range today was a solid 84-89 mph.

Grissom baseball team past Powermill

Daren Osby's pitching leads Marquis Grissom Baseball past Powermill 18u 5-0. White and Jacob Carlsen (South Gwinnett, Lawrenceville, GA 2016) were the hot hitters today. White went 3-4 with a home run, two runs and three RBI's. Carlsen went 2-4 and one RBI for the day. Jonah Bozeman (Colquitt County, Moultrice, GA 2014) and Clayy was two hot hitters today for Powermill 18u. Bozeman went 1-3 for the day. Clayy went 1-2 for the day and had one walk.

Pitching was lights out for the Marquis Grissom Baseball. Daren Osby's was the stud pitcher today, Powermill 18U could not get a run off Osby the whole game. Osby struck out ten and allowed three walks and five hits. Jordan Bradshaw (Brookwood, Thomasville, GA 2014) was on the other side of the decision for the game. Bradshaw pitched five innings while giving up five hits, three runs, one walk, six strikeouts and gave up a home run. Osby's fastball range today was a solid 87-90 mph. Bradshaw's fastball range today was 78-83 mph.

Strong pitching leads the East Cobb Astros past OTC Baseball 18U 7-0. Jake Polomaki (Mt Paran Christian, Kennesaw, GA 2014, Boston College) solid at the plate for the East Cobb Astros 18. He went 3-4, drove in one and scored one run. Trey Chapman (Luella, Hampton, GA 2014, Southern Union State CC) went perfect today with 3-3 for the day. East Cobb Astros 18 offense was solid for the day.

Pitching was solid today for the East Cobb Astros 18. Young held OTC Baseball 18u scoreless for six innings. He struck out seven and allowed no walks and six hits. Alex Snider (Luella, Hampton, GA 2014) couldn't get it done on the mound today. He lasted just four innings, walked three, struck out three, and allowed one run. Snider's fastball range today was 75-80 mph. Young's fastball range today was 82-85 mph.

Sandlot Survives Naturals' Rally, Win 3-2

Sandlot withstood a furious sixth-run rally from the NB Naturals 17/18U and took a hard fought 3-2 victory. Sandlot got most of their offensive power from Garrett Hall (2014, Owasso, OK). Hall went 1-3 at the plate, but picked up a double and two key RBIs in the first inning in what would prove to be the difference in the game. 

Sandlot dug deep into their bull pen for this game, using four different pitchers to try and keep the Naturals' offense off-balance. Sandlot got the most success from winning pitcher and Missouri State commit Nick Brown (2014, Catoosa HS, OK). In his two innings of relief work, Brown kept the Naturals' offense hitless and scoreless while walking three and striking out four. Brown showed good command and mound presence and featured a fastball that averaged 89 mph and topped out at 93 mph. 

Codey Smith (2014, River Ridge HS, GA) takes the loss for the Naturals for his six innings on the mound. Smith allowed five hits and three runs, all earned, while walking five and striking out four. 

Late game heroics give SEB the win

The SEB 17/18u White scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to steal a win from the A's Select. Jake Woolery (2015, Prince Avenue Christian) hit a single that scored Sid Turner (2015, Hebron Christian Academy) and led SEB to a walk-off win. Turner scored twice on the day and also added on RBI. They won the game with only three hits.

A's Select on the other hand, racked up 8 hits. Ozzie Millet (2016, Terra Environmental Research Institute), Kendrick Garcia (2015, South Miami Senior), and Fransico Roman each collected two hits.

Coastal Georgia uses long ball to win

The Coastal Georgia Baseball team used a home run to cap off a 5-3 victory over the GBSA Cardinals. Bradley Felkel (2013, Valdosta) hit a 2-run home run in the 2nd inning that proved to be the difference in the game.

Will Souther (2015, Coffee County) reached base twice with a hit and a walk. He also added a run scored for Coastal Georgia.

Jordan Carroll (2014, Langston Hughes) for GBSA provided a spark offensively going 1-2 with a double, a walk, an RBI, and a run scored.

Johnson Survives Express 2-1

In a game where both hits and runs were scarce, Team Alabama- Johnson prevailed 2-1 over Tennessee Express. Neither team could get much going at the plate, with both teams combining for only seven hits over the course of the game. Johnson relied heavily on their defense and pitching as was rewarded with two key double plays. 

Zack Ingram (2016, Vestavia Hills HS, AL) takes the win for Team Alabama- Johnson after going the distance on the mound. Ingram tossed all seven innings and allowed four hits and one unearned run while walking one and striking out six with a fastball that averaged 76 mph and topping out at 80 mph. 

Chae Butler (2014, Tyner Academy, TN) is credited with the loss for Tennessee Express for his five innings on the mound. Butler allowed three hits and two earned runs while walking three and striking out six before being relieved in the final inning.

North Alabama Vipers storm back for win

The North Alabama Vipers scored 4 in fifth and 4 in the sixth to prevail over the East Cobb Renegades 11-5. Vipers starter Peyton Hayes (2015, Virgil Grissom) turned in a pretty nice outing and picked up the win. He went 5 innings, allowing just two earned run, while striking out six.

Matt Sanders (2014, Bob Jones), a Troy commit, produced the power offensively for the Vipers. He went 2-4 with 2 RBI.

Teammate Blake Coward (2014, Madison Academy) also collected two hits of his own. He also had an RBI and racked up three runs scored.

The Renegades were led by Jackson Hesterlee (2015, Carrollton) who went 2-3 with an RBI and a run scored.

Indian Offense Too Much, Win 10-1

The East Cobb Indians didn't waste any time getting on the scoreboard, putting up five runs in the first inning and overwhelming the 18U Titans 10-1 in five innings. East Cobb got a balanced attack, with six players registering eight teams hits and were able to take advantage of seven walks to reach their ten runs. The Indian offense was led by Matt Washington (2014, Alexander HS, GA) and his 2-3 game at the plate. Washington also picked up two RBIs, two runs scored and a double. 

Noah Karst (2014, Etowah HS, GA) picks up the win for the Indians after four innings of work on the mound. Karst allowed two hits and one unearned run while walking five and striking out three before being relieved in the final inning. Karst used a fastball averaging 81 mph and topping out at 83 mph while mixing in a curveball.

Jordan Pickerill (2015, Creekview HS, GA) is credited with the loss for the 18U Titans after starting the game out on the mound. Pickerill allowed six hits and six runs, all unearned, while walking two and striking out four using a four pitch rotation that featured a fastball that averaged 79 mph and topped out at 82 mph.

Mizuno Team GA Baseball Academy Blue had strong pitching in their 5-1 win over Tiger Baseball USA. Jonathan Mouw (2015, Creekview), a Furman commit, through a gem. In 5 innings, he gave up just one earned run, two hits, while striking out nine hitters.

Jack Dunn (2015, Blessed Trinity) led the charge for Team GA going 2-3 with 2 runs scored. Brandon Sewell (2015, Gainesville) and Brady Ballstadt (2015, Lambert) also connected on two hits each.

Matthew Heard (2015, North Forsyth) hit a 2-run home run for Team GA as well.

Team Elite Roll To 10-1 Victory

Team Elite Roundtrip 18's jumped out to an early lead, putting up four runs in the first inning and not looking back as they cruised to a 10-1 win over the Rawlings Recruits. Team Elite needed only six hits and seven RBIs to get their 10 runs, and were led on offense by Keegan McGovern (2014, Coffee County HS, GA). McGovern, a Georgia recruit, had a perfect 2-2 game at the plate with three runs scored, two RBIs, two stolen bases, a double and a walk. The Rawlings Recruits were only able to manage one hit over the course of the game, a double by Nick Clark (2014, Seckman Sr, MO) in the top of the first inning.

Stetson Smith (2015, Pierce County HS, GA) takes home the win for Team Elite Roundtrip 18's for his full game on the mound. Smith allowed one hit and one unearned run in five innings of work while walking three and striking out five on only 39 pitches using a fastball that averaged 81 mph and topped out at 83 mph.

Justin Glosemeyer (2015, Seckman Sr, MO) is credited with the loss for the Rawlings Recruits for his full game on the mound. Glosemeyer allowed six hits and ten runs, eight earned, while walking five and striking out one in four innings on the mound. 

Jayhawks beat BigStix

Denny Pritchett Jayhawks 18u jumps on BigStix Gamers early then coasted to 9-1 win. Denny Pritchett Jayhawks 18u was led today by their top hitter Avery Smith (Creekview, Ball Ground, GA 2014, Georgia Highlands) who 2-2 at the plate against BigStix Gamers' pitching. Wagner was the lone top hitter for the BigStix Gamers. Wagner went 2-3 for the day.

Austin Shea (West Forsyth, Cumming, GA 2014) was hot today for the Denny Pritchett Jayhawks 18u's pitching. Shea only had three hits off him, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four during his four innings of work. Bailey couldn't get it done for his team today. He allowed six runs in three innings, walked three and struck out three. Shea's fastball range for the day was 81-84 while topping out at 84 mph. Case Carmichael (Creekview, Canton, GA 2014) came in for relieve for two innings worth. Carmichael give up three hits, one run, three walks and struck out one. Also Carmichael fastball range today was 81-84 mph.

Team Alabama Holds Off Comeback

The Cincinnati Riverbats/Team Combat made some noise in the last two innings of the ballgame, but saw their comeback fall short in a Team Alabama 7-3 victory.

Team Alabama's leadoff guy Logan Brashier (2015, Pelham, AL) scored a team high three runs in the ballgame, while also smacking a double. Trammell Shepperd (2016, Bob Jones, AL) went 1 for 3 with a double, 2 RBIs and a run scored.

Alabama-Huntsville recruit Peyton Johnson (2014, Thompson, AL) grabbed the win as he threw four innings of solid ball. His deceptive delivery helped him in only giving up one hit and two walks. Johnson struck out three batters as his fastball sat 83-85 mph. He topped out at 87 mph.

Cincinnati Riverbats/Team Combat's Mason Barger (2015, Lakota East, OH) went 2 for 2 with a double and a run batted in. The next hitter in the lineup Jake Neeley (2015, Glen Este, OH) hit the other two runs in on single in the bottom of the seventh.

Evan Riffle (2013, Walnut Hills, OH), the middle pitcher for Cincinnati, threw 1.1 innings of no run ball, walking one, and striking out two.

Late rally leads to win for OTC Baseball 18u

Despite falling behind 2-0 early, OTC Baseball 18u remained persistent and pulled out a 3-2 victory over the Rawlings Recruits.

Sage Holderfield (Mary Persons HS, Forsyth, GA, 2014) and Michael Warren (Dutchtown HS, Stockbridge, GA, 2014) were the two big bats for OTC Baseball today. Holderfield went 2-4 with 2 big RBIs, and Warren had a 3 for 4 showing scoring twice and stealing three bases. DJ Cooper (Eagle`s Landing HS, McDonough, GA, 2015) had a great all-around showing today, going 1 for 2 with two walks, a run scored, and a stolen base.

For the Rawlings Recruits, Ryan Jasinski (Seckman Sr. HS, Fenton, MO, 2014) stuck out as a big contributor, recording a single, a walk, a run scored, and a stolen base. He was also the starter for the Rawlings Recruits, allowing 3 runs (only 1 earned) while throwing 114 pitches in his 6 1/3 innings. 

On the mound for OTC was Taylor Martin (Community Christian HS, McDonough, GA, 2014), who threw 119 pitches in his complete 7 innings of work. Martin was able to keep opposing hitters at bay with a healthy mix of his curve and a fastball that reached 84 MPH.

East Cobb Renegades cruise to 9-1 victory

With an offense too powerful and an ace too dominating, the East Cobb Renegades won their first tournament game over Team Avenue Aces, 9-1.

On the mound for the Renegades, Taylor Buice (Wheeler HS, Marietta, GA, 2016) allowed only two hits and one run in his 5 innings of work in which he struck out 6 hitters. He was able to be so dominant by keeping opposing hitters off balance with his heavy mix of breaking balls with his fastball that reached 80 MPH. Buice was also one of the standouts at the plate, going 2-2 with a double, an RBI, and 2 runs scored.

Renegades' Ryan Macchio (Northview HS, Johns Creek, GA, 2014) had the other extra base hit, also a double, going 1-2 on the day with 2 RBIs. Jackson Hesterlee (Carrollton HS, Carrollton, GA, 2015) displayed an excellent all-around game today, recording a single, walk, 2 runs scored, 2 RBIs, and a stolen base.

For Team Avenue Aces, Devin McCary (Homewood HS, Birmingham, AL, 2014) scored the only run of the game, after reaching on a double. Justin Silvey (Sunset HS, Portland, OR, 2016) knocked in that run with a single.

Jones' home run leads Astros 18 to 4-3 win

The East Cobb Astros 18 won on Thursday over Team Elite Roundtrip 18's 4-3 thanks to 2014 Underclass 1st Team selection Alonzo Jones' (2015, Columbus HS, GA) late-inning home run. Jones finished the game 1-3 with a run scored and 2 RBI. Thomas Johns also had an outstanding day at the plate. Johns went 2-4 with a double, a home run, an RBI, and 2 runs scored. Trevor Devine (2014, North Cobb HS, GA) and number 1 nationally rated outfielder Daz Cameron (2015, Eagle's Landing Christian Acad HS, GA) were both 2-3 in the game. Cameron, who is the a 1st team 2014 Underclass selection, also stole a base and walked.

Zack Goble (2015, Pierce County HS, GA) and Ty Hobbs (2014, Ware County HS, GA) also contributed home runs and an RBI each for Team Elite Roundtrip 18's. Hobbs finished the game 2-3 with a run scored as well. Gage Patton (2014, Appling County HS, GA) and 2014 Southeast - All Region 1st Team selection Keegan McGovern (2014, Coffee County HS, GA) both finished with 2 hits.

On the mound, 2014 Southeast Region Honorable Mention Addison Reed (2014, Kennesaw Mountain HS, GA) pitched 5 solid innings of relief. Reed allowed only 2 earned runs and struck out 6 batters. He averaged a velocity of 83-86 mph and reached a maximum of 90 mph. Landon Faulkner (2014, Mt Paran Christian HS, GA) and Cody Roberts (2015, Blessed Trinity Cath HS, GA) both pitched an inning for Astros 18 and reached 88 mph with their fastball.


Marquis Grissom Baseball holds on for 4-2 win

After jumping out to a 3-0 lead, the Marquis Grissom Baseball team had to hold on late as they picked up the 4-2 victory over Coastal Georgia Baseball.

The star at the plate was Jacob Carlsen (South Gwinnett HS, Lawrenceville, GA, 2016), who went 2-3 with a double and recorded 3 or his team's 4 RBIs. Also having a nice day for Grissom Baseball was Chad Smith (South Gwinnett HS, Snellville, GA, 2015), a Georgia commit, who picked up a single and a stolen base en route to scoring a run.

Corbin Stanton (Brunswick HS, Brunswick, GA, 2015) showed off the wheels for Coastal Georgia, grabbing two stolen bases to go with his run and 1-3 day at the plate.

On the mound, the starter for Coastal Georgia, Tanner Davis (Glynn Academy, Brunswick, GA, 2015), went 3 innings giving up only a single hit and an unearned run. Closing it out was Austin Leggett (Islands HS, Wilmington Island, GA, 2014), a Savannah State recruit, not allowing anyone to score in his inning of work.

With a balanced display of pitching and hitting, the East Cobb Indians picked up their first win in as many tries in this tournament over Madison-Ridgeland Academy.

East Cobb's Matt Washington (Alexander HS, Douglasville, GA, 2014) is the big man on campus today, showing off his power with a home run to center field in the 5th inning. The 6'1" 225-lb Washington displayed a fluid stroke, exhibiting raw gap-to-gap power. Also having excellent game showings for the Indians were Nate Lomax (Blessed Trinity Catholic HS, Roswell, GA, 2014) and Andrew Burchell (Harrison HS, Powder Springs, GA, 2015). Both hitters picked up multiple hits and a run scored, while Burchell knocked in 3 RBIs and Lomax recorded 2 stolen bases. 

For Madison-Ridgeland, Austin Dillon (Madison-Ridgeland Academy, Madison, MS, 2015) had a nice all-around day, picking up a hit and a stolen base, while scoring his team's only run of the game. Brooks Edwards (Madison-Ridgeland Academy, Madison, MS, 2015) also picked up a double on the day.

On the mound, Hampton Clark (Kennesaw Mountain HS, Kennesaw, GA, 2015) came with his A-game for the Indians, retiring all four batters he faced while throwing only 12 pitches, 10 for strikes. He threw a fastball that topped out at 84 MPH and a deceiving curve at 69 MPH. 

East Cobb Marlins tie with A's Select

The A's Select team played to a 6-inning tie with the East Cobb Marlins on Thursday afternoon, the first day of tournament play.

East Cobb's Russ McGlamry (Sequoyah HS, Canton, GA, 2014) had a nice day at the plate, going 1-2 with a walk, also scoring a run. Also for the Marlins, Alex Adorno (Fayette County HS, Fayetteville, GA, 2014) came through with a nice day, going 1-3 with an RBI.

On the other side, Kendrick Garcia (South Miami Senior HS, Miami, FL, 2015) came up with a 1-2 outing with a walk and an RBI. Hector Montana (Calusa Preparatory HS, Miami, FL, 2014) showed off his speed from the leadoff hole, recording a stolen base after reaching with a single.

There were a couple of notable performances on the mound during the game. The Marlins' McGlamry came out firing in his one inning of work, striking out two while displaying a fastball that sat in the mid-80's, touching 87 MPH. Brian Fisher (River Ridge HS, Canton, GA, 2014) pitched the bulk of the game for East Cobb, going four innings, allowing only 2 hits and no runs. A's Select starter Alex Nodarse (Florida Christian HS, Coral Gables, FL, 2015) struck out 4 in his 2 1/3 innings of work, showing great control with a plethora of off-speed pitches. Seve Rodriguez (Florida Christian HS, Miami, FL, 2015) came on in relief, and pitched the final 3 2/3 innings, striking out an amazing 9 batters with his mix of fastballs, curveballs, and change-ups.

Bailey has committed to play at Georgia Tech and has a very high ceiling with excellent bat speed. Mitchell Webb (2014, East Paulding HS, GA) knocked a pair of doubles in the winning effort as well, showcasing his power potential with a live bat.

The East Cobb Yankees took care of business against the Fairfield Marlins 6-0. The Yankees rode the hot bat of Wade Bailey (2014, Villa Rica HS, GA) who was 4-4 with a double and three singles. He also scored twice, drove in one, and stole a base. Bailey has committed to play at Georgia Tech and has a very high ceiling with excellent bat speed. Mitchell Webb (2014, East Paulding HS, GA) knocked a pair of doubles in the winning effort as well, showcasing his power potential with a live bat.

Grider Gem Eludes Bandits

The Game Ready Athletics scored four times in the sixth inning to provide all of the run support Grider would need as he stiffled the Florida Bandits all game long as the A's defeated the Bandits 4-1.

Grider scattered just four hits, allowing one run while walking one and striking out seven. Grider went to his curve early and often to keep hitters off balance as the pitch sat between 69 and 71 mph to keep hitters off of his fastball that topped out at 82 mph. 

The Athletics recorded only three hits in the game, taking advantage of five Bandits errors to score their four runs as neither Bandits pitcher allowed an earned run. Austin Baskette (2014, Tavares, Leesburg, FL) started for the Bandits allowing three unearned runs in 5.1IP. The 6'3" right-hander allowed only two hits and one walk while striking out seven. 

Prospects win on one hit.

Prospects Baseball makes the most of one hit over Georgia BlackCrackers Baseball. Prospects baseball grouped all of its runs into the third inning. Blake Rupp (Hardaway, Columbus, GA 2015) was on fire at the plate today as he was perfect with going 2-2 and driving in one run. He singled in the second and fifth innings. The of the runs scored today by the Prospects was Clay Moody (Cherokee, Canton, GA 2015).

Pitcher Tyler Hughes (Marist, Tucker, GA 2014, UNC-Asheville) gets a lot of the credit today as he dominated over seven innings worth. He racked up eight strikeouts for the day while giving up no earned runs on four hits and one walk. Marcell Byrd (Hardaway, Columbus, GA 2015) was on the other side of the decision today as he took the loss. Byrd lasted 2 2/3 innings, walked six, struck out six and allowed five runs. Hughes's fastball range for the day was a solid 82-86. Byrd's fastball range today was 82-85 with topping out at 85 mph.

Team Elite 18u blows Alabama

Third-inning rally sparks blowout win for Team Elite 18u, 8-0 victory. The offense was hot for the Team Elite 18u for the day and the third inning. The rally of hits was started by Austin Upshaw (Buford, Buford, GA 2014, Georgia Perimeter College) on a RBI single, an RBI single by Ben Utley (Mountainview, Lawrenceville, GA 2014), an RBI single by Miles Fore (Redan, Atlanta, GA 2014), and an RBI Single by Zach Teem (Kennesaw Mountain, Acworth, GA 2015). Miles had the hot bat for the Team Elite 18u today, went 2-2, drove in one and scored two runs. Lively (Pelham, Helena, AL, 2016) for Team Alabama went 1-2 for the day. He also singled in the second inning.

Pitching was outstanding for both team, Lively pitched really well for his team. Lively held the other team hitless over one inning, allowed no earned runs, and sruck out none. Bobby Holmes (Oconee County, Watkinsville, GA, Coastal Carolina) was on fire today as he pitched only four innings of work. Holmes racked up strike outs on one hit, no earned runs, and walked one. Lively fastball range today was a solid 74-80. Holmes's fastball range for the day was 86-90 with 90 for the 90.

Banditos Pitching Shuts Down Tennessee Express

The Tennessee Express lost to the Georgia Banditos 8-0 in five innings,

The Georgia Banditos scored all but one inning and the three pitchers sent to the mound held the Tennessee Express to a scoreless ball game. 

TJ Clark (2014, Mableton, GA) started the game and received the win for the Banditos. He went three innings and only gave up one hit. He struck out five batters with his good command and using his lower half. He showed a large frame with room to fill and showed a strong mound presence by attacking hitters. He averaged from 78 to 82 mph but topped out at 85 mph. Justin Reilly (2017, Powder Springs, GA) went one inning with a strikeout and no hits, and Jason Gifford (2014, Warner Robins, GA) went an inning as well with no hits in his performance. 

Offensively, the Georgia Banditos hit the ball well. The Mississippi State commit,  Ryan Gridley (2014, Milton, GA), led off the game and went a perfect 2-2 with a triple and a single. Gridley touched home three times. He showed good play coverage with a powerful, live bat and gap to gap power. T.J. Waterbore (2014, Canton, GA) match Gridley going 2-2 with two singles and drove in four runs. Waterbore showed a fluid stroke with power potential and can hit to all sides of the field. Brent Alford (2014, Powder Springs, GA) went 1-3 with a RBI in the game.

For the Tennessee Express, Hunter Owen (2014, Chattanooga, TN) was the only player to get a hit in the game. 

Reynolds Tries to Spark Offense, but Lose 3-1

The Mizuno Team GA Baseball Academy 17U Red lost to the North Alabama Vipers 3-1 in seven innings. 

Mizuno collected three more hits than the opposition, but could not score after the first inning.

For Mizuno Team GA Baseball Academy, Griffin Kern (2015, Alpharetta, GA) started the game with the first and last score in the first inning. Kern roped a RBI double to score Tanner Moye (2015, Blountsville, GA) who earlier singled in the inning. Andrew Reynolds (2015, Cumming, GA) led the Mizuno team with three hits, but lack of clutch hitting couldn't get him around to score. 

Both starting pitchers, Dylan Powers (2014, Gainesville, GA) for the Mizuno Team GA Red and Grant Chandler (2014, Huntsville, AL) for the Vipers, had identical starts. Both pitchers went six innings and striking out six with three walks. Chandler proved to get out of situations better by only allowing one run to score on six hits. Powers, however, gave up only five hits in the game. 

Offensively for the Vipers, five different batters collected the five total hits in the game. Cole Collins (2015, Hanceville, AL) collected the only extra base hit with a double and finished going 1-3. Brad Norman (2016, Cullman, AL) went 1-2 with a RBI and a run. Chandler helped himself offensively with a single and driving in a run. Darien Prewett (2015, Columbia, TN) matched with a single and a RBI as well.

Clutch Hitting Hard to Come By for Jayhawks

The Denny Pritchett Jayhawks 18U lost to the Mizuno Team GA Baseball Academy 17U Blue 3-1 in seven innings.

Each team cracked seven hits each, but the Mizuno Team GA Baseball Academy got clutch hits to score runners.

Six different batters for Mizuno received hits in the game. Jack Dunn (2015, Alpharetta, GA) led the team with two hits in three plate appearances. Matthew Heard (2015, Cumming, GA) went 1-3 with a double. Gene Wood (2015, Flowood, MS) roped a triple and plated two runs in the game. The Georgia commit, Trey Logan (2014, Suwanee, GA), also went 1-3 with a base knock and a run. 

Charlie Hecht (2014, Johns Creek, GA) started the game for Mizuno going six strong innings. He surrendered seven hits but did not let a single run cross the plate. He showed good command and made effective pitches. Hecht topped out at 86 mph on the hill. Parker Carracci (2015, Jackson, MS) went the last inning and struck out two of the three batters faced and maxed out at 88 mph.

Both Chad Foster (2014, Roswell, GA) and Leo Narrison (2014, Dacula, GA) collected two hits a piece for the Jayhawks. Foster collected the only extra base hits with a double and a triple. 

Pitching for the Jayhawks was solid by John Cassandra (2014, Cumming, GA). He went all six innings and let seven hits fall, but was able to strike out seven batters in the game. 

Errors Hurt GBSA Cardinals in 9-0 Loss

The Powermill 18U defeated the GBSA Cardinals 9-0 in six innings. 

The Cardinals committed eight errors in the game, which helped the Powermill have two big innings.

The Powermill 18U jumped off to an immediate start to lead 4-0 in the first inning. The team was led by Jonah Bozeman (2014, Moultrie, GA) who went 2-4 with two singles, a RBI, and a run. Graham Hartsfield (2014, Tallahassee, FL) matched with two hits of his own and scored a run too. He was able to touch home twice in the game. Dallas Oliver (2014, Vernon, FL) added a hit of his own and scored twice in the game. 

Thomas Nicoll (2014, Tallahassee, FL) started for the Powermill going five strong innings and ranging from 83-87 mph and topping out at 88 mph. He only surrendered two hits and struck out three opponents. 

Deion Sellers (2014, Ellenwood, GA) was the only player for the Cardinals to try to get something started by going 2-3 with two singles. The team put the ball in play well, but just couldn't find the holes to get through.

Bryan Betts (2014, Decatur, GA) started and got pinned with the loss. He gave up four hits and only one earned run with three strikeouts. Tyler Wilcher (2015, Atlanta, GA) went the last two innings giving up two hits, no earned runs, and striking out two.

Offense and Pitching Explodes for So Cal NTT

The So Cal NTT defeated SEB 17/18U White in five innings by a final score of 12-0.

The game started in So Cal's favor when the team started with a 11-0 lead going into the bottom of the third. The team tacked on a total of 13 hits, while SEB only allowed one error to occur in the game.

Austin Reynolds (2014, Smyrna, TN) started the offensive for So Cal going 3-4 with a double and two singles. He also plated four runs in the game to lead the team and touched home once. Cameron Bloebaum (2014, Acworth, GA) fell after Reynolds going 2-3 with three runs in the game. Stephen Skruck (2014, Marietta, GA) tied for the most hits with three, triple, double, and single, and also plated three runs in the game and touching home twice. Chandler Avant (2014, Troy, AL) and Brady Johnson (2014, Dothan, AL) went 2-3 with two RBIs each. Avant also touched home three times. Johnson had a double and a triple in the game.

So Cal NTT threw three different pitchers in the game. Mike McKenna (2014, Fernandina Beach, FL) started going only one inning and striking out one. Nicholas Ready (2015, Dallas, TX) and Benjamin Wanger (2015, Newton, MA) had similar performances by going two strong innings and only walking two. Wanger had four strikeouts and Ready had three. 


Pitching Duel Ends in Tie

The 212 A's 18U and the Sandlot played all seven innings and resulted in a tie at 1 to 1.

Strong pitching by both teams resulted in only five total hits in the game. 

The 212 A's were led by a duo of pitchers Matthew Buckalew (2014, Fayetteville, GA) and Crandell Poore (2014, Gray, GA). Buckalew, the Georgia Reagents commit, started and went five strong innings while allowing the only run for the Sandlot. He was able to strike out three in the game. He showed a fluid motion that seemed effortless action in his delivery. He topped out at 87 mph on the bump. Poore threw the last two innings only allowing one hit while striking out four batters.

For the Sandlot, Max Simpson (2014, Tulsa, OK) started the game and only went one inning. Most of the pitching was held down by Parker McDonald (2014, Bixby, OK). He faced 15 batters and struck out 6. He showed a good mount presence and showed the ability to pitch out of trouble. He also topped out at 87 mph on the mound. Sam Kraybill (2014, Stillwater, OK) tossed the last two innings only allowing one hit and striking out three batters. 

Jarrod Crum (2014, Bonaire, GA) for the 212 A's went 2-3 with a double and a single in the game. Josh Davis (2014, Tulsa, OK) for the Sandlot went 1-2 with a run and a walk to match Crum.

Gold Glove Elite cruise to 14-2 Win

Gold Glove Elite 18u cruise to a 14-2 victory over NB Naturals 17/18U.  Glod Glove scored seven runs in the fifth inning and again scored six runs in the seventh inning.  The offense combined for 14 hits in the game compared to the Naturals two.

Leadoff hitter Austin Brooks (2014, Pace HS, FL) led the way going 2-5 with a homerun, a run scored and two RBIs.  Nate Gilmore (2015, Choctawhatchee Senior, FL) went 3-4 with two runs scored and two stolen bases.  Myles York (2014, Spanish Fort HS, AL) went 2-4 with three runs scored, an RBI and one stolen base.  Greg Rengel (2014, Pace HS, FL) also went 2-4 with two doubles in the game.  Both Bailey Daniels (2015, Fairhope HS, AL) and Wesley Buckley (2014, Pace HS, FL) contributed to the offense with a double a piece.

Hayden Bludworth (2015, Choctawhatchee Senior, FL) pitched a complete seven innings, striking out five and giving up no earned runs.

For NB Naturals, Blake Juberg (2013, River Ridge, GA), a LeGrange College commit, pitched 1.2 innings displaying a fastball that peaked at 81 mph while averaging 79-80 mph.  Schyler Phillips (2015, River Ridge HS, GA) and Silas Stephens (2015, Homeschool, GA) each had a hit in the contest for NB Naturals.


East Cobb Dodgers hold on to 9-5 Win

The East Cobb Dodgers get five runs in the bottom of the sixth to take a 9-5 lead and to eventually grab the win over the Atlanta Dodgers.

Leadoff hitter Avery Sirman (2016, Gilmer HS, GA) led the East Cobb offense going 2-3 at the plate with a double, three runs scored, an RBI and a stolen base.  Joey Santoro (2013, Cambridge, GA) went 2-4 in the game with a double, a run scored and one RBI.  Both Mathew Broadhead (2014, Harrison HS, GA) and Jamie Balevic (2014, Lassiter HS, GA) went 2-3 with a run scored and an RBI.

On the mound for East Cobb, Jamar Williams (2015, Mays HS, GA) pitched an inning of work, striking out all three batters faced, with good presence on the mound, while throwing all fastballs that averaged 83-85/85 mph.  Kenny Reed (2015, Sprayberry HS, GA) went six innings striking out six batters.

For the Atlanta Dodgers, Micah Pettiway (2015, Kipp Atlanta Colligiate, GA) went 2-3 at the plate with a run scored and an RBI.  On the mound, Tyler Adams (2016, Apalachee HS, GA) went six innings giving up just two earned runs.  He showed good presence with a good curveball, and a fastball that peaked at 81 mph while averaging 78-80 mph.


Chargers top Choice Baseball Club

Georgia Highlands Scout Team Chargers defeated Choice Baseball Club 2-0 in 18U action this morning.

2014 Justin Aikens (Hiram, GA) went 1-3 with an RBI for the Chargers and 2013 Blake Mitchell (East Paulding, GA) added an RBI as well.

2013 Turner Edwards (North Paulding, GA) pitched 6 innings for the Chargers, allowing no runs and striking out 5. His fastball peaked at 85mph. 2014 Chase Jones (South Terrebonne, GA) pitched the remaining inning, allowing no hits and no runs while striking out 2 and topping his speeds at 84mph.

For Choice, 2015 Richard Triplet (Pebblebrook, GA) pitched 6 innings, striking out 6 batters and peaking his fastball at 84mph.

Excel Blue Wave beats St. Louis.

Excel Blue Wave escapes St. Louis Blue Chip/Rawlings Prospects 2-0 behind a big work by the ace striking out 12. Today was a big pitching day for teams. Hitting was not solid today. Peyton Whitten (Piedmont, Anniston, GA 2015) and Clayton Daniel (Guntersville, Guntersville, AL 2014, Jacksonville State) was two hot hitter today. Whitten went 1-4 for the day and scored one run. Daniel went 1-3 for the day and scored one run. St. Louis Blue Chip/Rawlings Prospects Carson Winn (Silver Creek, Longmont, CO 2016) was the other only solid hitter for the day. Winn went 1-2 for the day.

Pitching was outstanding for the Excel Blue Wave team today. Zack Moon (Virgil Grissom, Huntsville, AL 2015) was the ace today. Moon pitched six innings while giving up one hit, one walk, and striking out twelve for the day. For the St. Louis Blue Chip/Rawlings Prospects pitchers Tyler Barker (Bloomfield, Bloomfield, NM 2015) and Dakota Marley (Legend, Parker, CO 2015) did not have a solid day for pitching. Barker pitched two innings starting off while giving up two hits, one run and two walks. Marley came in to finish the game, pitched five innings worth while giving up one run, five walks, and two strikeouts.  Moon fastball range today was 82-87 while topping out at 87 mph. Dakota Marley fastball range today was 80-84 while topping out at 84 mph.
